What happens in Fall 1916:
* Romania joins the Entante. A unit (chosen by the E player) materializes in Rum. It can be chosen to belong to either the Romanian MinorPower, or to the protecting GreatPower of France.
* Italy declares war on Germany. No more restrictions for Italy or against it.

Orders have been sent. A question -- why does Rumania and Bulgaria get units immediately but not Portugal? I am not complaining, but I am curious why you put the difference into the game.

b/c Bul and Rum were involved (bulgarian armies help AH a lot in Serbia, Rum entered the war but didn't manage much :-|), Por was only a lateral effect of Germany declaring war on it. I don't remember any portuguese impact around the Maginot lines!

Do I get to see which unit is raised in Rumania? Is there an up to date copy of the board - I need to think about this for a day or so and try to get into Sparhawk's mind.

I think it would be more fun for you to try and guess whether I built an army or a fleet! [Since I think you get to know, I will tell you I build a {censored by the military}.]

One of the fun points of this is to try to predict what my opponent will do, and then make a move that will take advantage of that. Of course, if we both do that we could end up looking pretty silly some times.

Now why would you think that?? Did i tell you what John built in Bulgaria?? :

And there's no hurry, both players should take their time.

bump? John, i really think you forgot! DON'T take this as a memo on your 2do list - i intended it as a little graffitti on the wall; something that you could come across by accident while you casually walk by

It is rather humorous that you have to chase the *French* in the Balkins.

You could always let them go home (through Vienna, of course).

A - F ADS
F + F Mar
T + F Smy, A Con
P + F Por

Spring 1917
* Russia is in decline. Its units stop advancing, they just support each other.
* the US of A joins the Entante. Each subsequent Fall season, one American army joins the battle.

These American armies were intended to be mercenaries of France, meaning that any captured SC will become part of the French Teritories. And i don't think making them controlled by a dif. person (ie mith) would really add any value to the game.

Back to the info: The landing of the American armies can take place in any province neighbouring the Atlantic Ocean, except Gascony. To succeed, the path must be clear (there should be no CP fleet in NAT or MID, respectively; and any opposing unit in the destination province should be overcome). The landing may receive support. If it is unsuccessfull, it can't be tried again in Spring, but in the following Fall.

is it just me, or is Turkey's military might grossly exagerated in this custom scenario when compared to the historical situation?

i think in 1918 Austria was pretty much going for spoils of the crumbling Ottoman Empire. Now they're working together and it just happens that Turkey is getting the larger part of the gains...

My objection is regarding how the game was set-up; Turkey is way too powerful at the start of the game. The current situation in the test game confirms that.

So the idea is that Turkey should start smaller (1f+1a maybe) and thus make the Russian Empire a bit smaller (4 SC's were too many imo but i had found no better way of improvement)?

Nope, I didn't expect the move to Tuscany. I should have in hindsight, but I didn't even consider it. Good move! I was supposed to move the French army from Piedmont to Tyrolia, but that order seemed to disappear. Of course, I am not sure I would be happy being in Tyrolia with you in Tuscany.
