... at the game of your choice. I need something to do, so anyone who wants to pick a game and then tread me into the ground at it is free to do so right here.

Anyone at all can step up to challenge me, I'm not picky. Although I do have rather a penchant for 2 player board games... ^_^ doesn't really matter all that much that I'm really really bad at them, I suppose.

A man is dead in a room with 53 bicycles, a table, and 4 chairs.

How did he die?

Uhm... the bicycle salesman stabbed him... o_0 I have no idea.

That's a really odd lateral, I must admit... cool.

ooh! ask yes/no questions of the GL, because I think 99% of the other people here have heard this one. (including me)

If you want to, I mean. I don't know if I'd want to solve a puzzle set by someone who calls themselves the Nekkid Republic Party.

I think it's a joke, seeing as it combines elements from several lateral puzzles

No, it's not a joke. Admittedly the table and chairs aren't always included.

Sorry, I posted by this name by mistake. But I am going to let Hitchhiker runs the show if she wants.

Yeah, the chairs and table doesn't have to be there.

As Kd is British, she might not get it. I think this is an American only thing (I could be wrong of course).

Okay... so I guess my questions are:

Is the heowge number of bicycles important?
Is the room locked at all?
Are there any windows? (yeah, I know lateral rooms never have them, but it was worth askin...)
Was the man killed by a person?
Or by an object?
Is the fact that it's a guy relevant?

1. The hugeness of the number is not that important. The number itself is.
2. Irrelevant.
3. Irrelevant.
4. Probably. (anybody can correct me if i'm wrong and i should've said 'definitely'... Though technically it wasn't just a person. )
5. same thing applies here too.
6. nope.

Ok, so 53 is important...

Did the bicycles play any part in the man's death?
If there had been, say, 1 more bicycle or 1 fewer, would he still have died?

Hmmm, so 52 bikes can't kill a guy, but 53+ can? Right...

Is the amount of space the bicycles take up important?
Was the man suffocated?
Was he wounded, and the injuries resulted in his death?
Did he know that he was going to be killed?
Did he enter the room willingly?
Is one of the bikes walking along in a forest?
Am I even on the right track with these questions?

And finally... am I going to kick myself when I get this?

What I meant by that was, with the man and the bicycles in the room, is the amount of space left in the room important/relevant?

For example, maybe if the bicycles took up almost the entire room space, and the man couldn't move or escape, that could be relevant.

Oh right...

So... Was the man hurt as a result of coming into contact with the bicycles?
Is this puzzle in any way connected to a true story?
Did the man enter the room through the door, like people usually do?
Or did he get in another way?
Through a window?
Through the roof?

Vinny: I see why you said yes, but I think she meant as a direct result of coming into contact with the bicycles (like if they were poisoned or fell on her) -- that's why I said no.

Look, I know it looks like I'm completely stupid here (which is a lie: I'm only 75% stupid) but I've seriously never heard of this particular lateral before. I'm at a disadvantage, having spent nowhere near as much time here as you have, or anywhere else on the Internet for that matter. Like you also said, my being British doesn't really do me any favours either, but I can't help that. If Captain Obvious would like to take the time to realise that, and also to notice that he/she's probably the one doing the most taunting, I would appreciate it loads.

Okay, now I've got that out the way...
