I call it Ghost. Maybe you call it something else. If you do, you can let me know. Maybe I like your name better, because I don't like the name Ghost. Anyway...
I start with a letter. Then you add a letter to the front or the back of my letter. Then I add a letter to the front or the back of the newly formed letter combination. We go on and on until either
a) someone forms a word, and they LOSE.
b) someone calls the person who has just played's bluff.
This requires a little explanation. The letter combination being formed should, but is not required to, be part of a larger word. If you form a letter combination, and your opponent does not believe you can make a word that contains that letter combination, they can call your bluff. If you cannot come up with a word, you LOSE. If you can come up with a word, you WIN. Thus, it is in your best interest, normally, to come up with a letter combination that exists within a word. But again, you are not required to. This would be a called a "bluff".
So, to restate the rules, we keep adding one letter at a time until:
a) someone forms a word and LOSES;
b) someons calls the other's bluff. The other player must cite a legal word, and WIN, admit they have no legal word, and LOSE, or cite an illegal word, and LOSE.
Legal words for this game are words that would be legal in Scrabble, as in non-captilized or punctuated in any way. We will use dictionary.com as our reference tome. And I will begin with

| I hate to ruin the fun, and altough it can be played as a multi-person game, the number of players MUST be known at the beginning. If not, we would get to games that no one wanted to make a move in, as they wait for some poor sap to come along. So for this game, its just me and PSO. I think for now, we will play the winner will start the new game, and the first person to jump in can go. Or you can try to play against someone else in this thread. That would be cool to. |

*calls cuban smoker's bluff*
I'm well aware of the fact that the words "polyploid", "polyploidy", and "polyploids" exist. But I'm not familiar with any word other than those which contain the string POLYPLOID.
Sure, I'll probably lose. But I probably would have lost anyway. |

My Bio course also taught me about autopolyploids and allopolyploids. There might be others too, I don't know.
If anyone else wants to play, they can go ahead, I'm taking a break, lots of work. |
