I'm confused with the 3/2 odds? Would not the nearest propper tote odds of 7/4 be more precise?
Plus, a loory load of the new potter books went awol a few days ago up in Manchester, so don't trust someone betting from Blighty, like Duph for instance

I confess I don't know that muce about the tote. I meant 3/2 in the same way as casinos pay for a Blackjack. Money back, plus 1.5 x your bet.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO TITLE CHANGES, I repeat
PLEASE MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO TITLE CHANGES.
and invis all posts for that matter, just in case I accidentally hover over the 'last post' bit in 'Discussion Forums et al'

I won't get my copy delivered until next week, so I don't want to see the thread headline changed to 'Duph wins' or 'it was Hermione!!'. Or any mention in any thread come to that. And don't say "Well, you'll just have to queue up on Saturday night and read it on Sunday like the rest of us, mnyah mmnyah" or "Well don't come back to the GL till you've read it", because, well, a week without the GL, I mean, c'mon.

Carry on....

Of course not, Duph. I won't even be getting my grubby hands on it until about Mon/Tue, and even so, I'll probably wait a good week after the publishing date to update the results. Of couse anyone who does discuss it should definitly DO IT IN INVISIBLE..

if the person killed is the one whom i have heard dies, then i will be extremely miffed, to put it lightly. that person is my favorite character!!! and if that person dies as i have heard that person dies, then it's even worse

I bet $GL199 on the aforementioned Sirius Black and kept $GL1 so if everyone was wrong and everyone else bet everything then I would win by $GL1.

Odd. I swear I edited that post and replaced the "Is this hidden?" with whoever bet right gets pretty good odds; not the best, but decent.

Just wondered what the players looked like in order of odds... I think Harry should have been 1M:1 as well, who the heck would be foolish enough to bet Harry Potter is going to die? What, is book 6 going to be called "Draco Malfoy and the New Order???" If I had bet, I would have bet on Hagrid... the author DOES like heaping misery on poor Harry...

I dunno, Werebear, Harry trying to get out of the underworld would make a pretty kick ass book 6, if you ask me
