hang on here, If I have an A Arm and wave the other is that my B Arm? What if I've only got one arm? As for mith and his F Bre I assume that's short for breast (size F at that) , and can only assume that this game is degenerating into a slugging match with spare body parts

I have received a draw offer from both "sides" in this game. A draw can only be granted if all players so desire. Please email me "Draw agreed" or "No draw" and I will announce the result. All countries still in play share equally in the draw.

Draw, of course.

(And I'll be happy to share my notes on the last few seasons and the next year, whenever a draw is agreed. It's such a pretty line. )

First off, and I think most everyone should know my opinion on this by now, but I think it is pretty ridiculous for any Diplomacy game to end in a 7-way draw. This was more of a two player game than anything.

Second, here's the email I sent to Antrax and CB, in case any of you lot are interested. It shows how we finish setting up the stalemate (33 SCs, 23 units needed for it).

Originally posted by mith:
Well, that was sort of anti-climactic. I was hoping they would at least do something interesting, to warrant me looking at this map so much.
The stalemate line is complete, we've even still got Smy (I suppose Maximus gave up?). And now the moves are pretty obvious; a bunch of supports, with only one remotely interesting necessary move (A Mar-Bur, because the stalemate line actually requires a fleet there).

France:
F English Channel Supports F Mid-Atlantic Ocean
A Gascony - Morocco
F Gulf of Lyon Supports F Western Mediterranean Sea - Tyrrhenian Sea
F Irish Sea Supports F Mid-Atlantic Ocean
A Marseilles - Burgundy
F Mid-Atlantic Ocean Convoys A Gascony - Morocco
F North Atlantic Ocean Supports F Mid-Atlantic Ocean
A Piedmont Supports A Tyrolia
F Portugal Supports F Mid-Atlantic Ocean
F Spain(sc) - Western Mediterranean Sea
A Tyrolia Supports A Piedmont
A Vienna Supports A Trieste
F Western Mediterranean Sea - Tyrrhenian Sea

Russia:
F Black Sea Convoys A Rumania - Armenia
A Budapest - Klug
A Monte Negro Supports A Albania
A Moscow Supports A St. Petersburg - Omsk
F Norway - St. Petersburg(nc)
A Rumania - Armenia
A Serbia - Bulgaria
A Sevastopol Supports A Rumania - Armenia
A Smyrna Supports A Rumania - Armenia
A St. Petersburg - Omsk
A Trieste Supports A Tyrolia
A Ukraine Supports A Sevastopol

Turkey:
F Aegean Sea, no move received
A Albania Supports F Greece
A Ankara Supports A Smyrna
F Constantinople Supports A Smyrna
F Greece Supports F Aegean Sea

I added a few fun things we can try (attacking TYS and Arm, mainly). The key stuff should be obvious.

And then, after my fleet build, we've got 23 necessary units, with the rest just sitting around. We can do something more creative with them. Maybe Antrax and I can have a little fake war.

France:
F Brest Hold
A Burgundy Hold
F English Channel Supports F Mid-Atlantic Ocean
A Gascony Hold
F Gulf of Lyon Hold
F Irish Sea Supports F Mid-Atlantic Ocean
F Marseilles Supports F Gulf of Lyon
F Mid-Atlantic Ocean Hold
F North Atlantic Ocean Hold

A Piedmont Hold
F Portugal Supports F Mid-Atlantic Ocean
F Spain(sc) Supports F Gulf of Lyon
A Tyrolia Supports A Piedmont
A Vienna Supports A Trieste

Russia:
F Black Sea Supports A Sevastopol
A Bulgaria Hold
A Klug Hold
A Monte Negro Supports A Albania
A Moscow Hold
F Norway Hold
A Rumania Hold
A Sevastopol, no move received
A Smyrna Hold
A St. Petersburg Hold
A Trieste Hold
A Ukraine Hold

Turkey:
F Aegean Sea Hold
A Albania Hold
A Ankara Supports A Smyrna
F Constantinople Supports A Smyrna
F Greece Supports F Aegean Sea

I agree with Mith. Even though I wasn't playing in this game, I think it's riduiculous that we end up with a 7-way draw. Why did people bother playing a game they were willing to allow to end up in such a stalemate?

You lot should be ashamed of yourselves!

I concur. I think a draw is a shame to a 4-country force, but I'm quite proud of the fact I survived my third game with almost nobody to rely on. I'm deleting all the emails from this game (400k!) except for one by fmb, which I want to post here if he won't mind.
