Btw, as for the rating thing, I remembered another version I saw that made solos even more valuable. Basically (1+players eliminated)/(players surviving). So, in standard, 7 for solo, 3 for two-way draw, 1.66 for three-way, 1 for four-way, .6 for five-way, .33 for six-way, .14 for seven-way. The point being that in the other rating system, if you're in a two-way endgame, you'd be just as well off in the ratings drawing as trying to solo, assuming you're fairly even.

I don't really want a rating system though, it wasn't a serious suggestion. I'd give us yet another meta-game thing to deal with.

Are there no points for second place, then?
Clearly the goal is to win, and barring that, to prevent an opponent from winning, but barring that, shouldn't there be something for lasting?

Absolutely not. If players are worried about comming 2nd or 3rd, they will be less likely to take a risk and attack the strongest player to prevent them winning. Not to mention all the other reasons that Mith posted.

Anyone who wants a rating can always play on the judges. The GL game is a family affair IMO.
