Everything important will be in this post, so check here first.

Any and all diplomacy may be carried out by any method the players like, including GL C, email, phone or whatever. I'd rather that little gets posted to the thread except obviously public announcements.

I will adjudicate and publish a map and new positions in this post. You can send me provisional moves which can be over-ridden if you wish.

The adjudication may be appealed if I've screwed up badly.

Hmm...doesn't seem fair really. Germany again!

I think I will offer my position to one of the other reserves (if they wish to take it). I just feel somebody else might enjoy the pleasure of playing Germany.

If they do not come forward soon, I will play on.

Mith, how you could possibly expect AhoInu to co-operate with you after the way you treated her in Brighton is beneath contempt! I will get TokigHund (who's much more into that sort of thing) to remind you instead. Actually guys, I do send out reminders a day or so in advance, as most plyers get a first set of moves in quickly, and then amend them as the week wears on. hence if you haven't sent me any moves by Thursday I get pretty paranoid. I confirm all emails which involve updating the first post, or which are orders btw - so if you don't get a conf: after 24 hours you might consider sending again.

Apart from that, the DogPack is leaving for Leeds for the weekend (we sometimes have to earn a living running Bridge competitions) and will be back midnight Sunday GMT. AhoInu is beside herself with joy - there's a certain Yorkshire Terrier ....

USing something like psp one can easily keep pre-fabricated maps, with unit pieces and simply place them ontop of the map using layers. That way you do not need to discard everymap and start again. Simply dont merge layers.

To clarify about orders: how I do it might help:

I store your orders in a text file until I adjudicate. I manually do the adjudication by entering the orders into a postal adjudicator from the text file. The adjudicator tells me which moves failed and succeeded, what retreats, disbands are required and what Builds are needed. It also produces the somewhat crummy map. I don't really mind how the moves arrive, provided they are unambiguous. Clearly the standard abbreviations and format are better. I do prefer seas to be in capitals though, it makes it clearer. The format I prefer is as I send my confirmations (I cut and paste the line from my text file where I store the moves until I do the adjudication). The complete order list which I post in the link is also cut from my text file.

Once I know what's happened I copy the map to my website, handcode the amendments to the html and move that to my website, update the first post and post something saying Happy diploming or some such. It takes between an ninety minutes and two hours to do the whole thing plus the time confirming emails and maintaining the text file on an ad hoc basis

Everything relevant is in the first post, including the abbrevs for the Nor territories. Please read it.

Provisional moves are welcomed, there is no limit to the number of times they're changed.

I haven't heard from Mr T yet (tenshi) - anyone seeing him on GL C might remind him? I have emailed him. If he doesn't turn up by Wed night, and none of you has contact I'll give Fried Egg his slot. Otherwise there's not enough time for diploming.

I have respectfully withdrawn from this game. It appears as though Mr. T will not be playing, which will bring Egg in as Austria. Since our roles are reversed in game 1, I don't think it would be wise that we be playing in two separate games. There will not only be communication problems (which game is this?), there may also be the challenge of trying to maintain alliances in one game, when they are eventually broken in another (not saying I have any intention of doing so in game one soon, but eventually it will happen).

So I will let Death of Rats take Germany, and then if Mr. T does not show, Egg can have Austria.
