DP: No, I am not Madonna?
Duphretes: No, I am not Michelangelo (sp.?).
HH: No, I am not Mephistopholes?
The rest (and perhaps you three above ), generals.
How does this work, though: what if I genuinely don't know if the stumper describes my person? Do I just wait and see if that person is my person and say, "general"? Or do I say, "I don't know."? If the latter, it would be giving a pretty big clue if, as in groza's example, I didn't know George Washington was the first president of the US, for then, if I said "I don't know," then you would have a clue that it may be a president.

Mike Modano captains the Stars.
General: are you alive? (the classic starter )
I would say give them a general for now, and if it turns out it was your person, you should concede.

LW: I am not Mephistopholes?
DP: I (The Doctor, that is) have taken a high school music appreciation class and at college, the two music history courses that cover music from Antiquity until about the turn of the 19th century. I, like you, am a Classical Music buff. This, however, (and I am sure you will supply more!) has me stumped!
I doubt it, as I am almost positive he's Italian, but I am not Monteverdi? (P. S. Am I allowed to guess like this? Because I have just removed a potential stumper, right?)
Pi: GENERAL: 5. I am not involved in Sport.
Duphr: GENERAL: 6. I did not die before 1950.
STUMPER: I did hear about this guy. Can't think of his name though.

One day the zookeeper noticed that the orangutan was reading two books - the Bible and Darwin's Origin of Species.
In surprise he asked the ape, "Why are you reading both those books?"
"Well," said the orangutan, "I just wanted to know if I was my brother's keeper or my keeper's brother."
