The interesting thing here is that as of now the mafias might have a majority, however since they don't know who they are that majority is worthless. Gosh, I love an interesting game.

I could be mafia, and by that I would be lynching a fellow mafia, who if the game goes on would make one less day later on. Now this is an interesting delema because the more mafia out there the less likely that mafia will know who they themselves are, so killing ralphmerridew could actually help the mafia by giving others a chance of knowing who they are.

However I could be town, which means that lynching ralphmerridew right now would be in my best interest for survival. Even if the mafia would more easily know who they are (see paragraph above) it is unlikely that they will all know at once, so therefore as I townie I should lynch ralphmerridew.

Unless there are two families, your logic is severly flawed. Whether or not there are two families is not something we can guess, and therefore shouldn't. It seems like a lot of mafia for one family, but until otherwise indicated, I believe there is one family, either I'm in it, or I'm not.

I will admit that I don't have any real reason for believing I am mafia (I targetted Tyenar, not Zealot last night), but I don't care. I've found these posts to be very entertaining. (I also found the posts in Electoral Mafia after I got killed off much more interesting than the game before it.) I've actually been doing this because their are lots of "Lynch evil mafia _____! Go town!", so I thought it would be fun to make some posts that go the other way. And the paranoid side of me says that the game will end with cubestudent, mith, and Zealot revealed to be mafia and myself to be town, just as it says that the replicants in Bladerunner are secretly laughing their heads off at me.

If you start with one half Mafia, and Mafia never die at night, won't there always be at least as many Maf as townies?
unless maybe you add: "If a Mafia were to be the choice of the majority there would be no kill that night." Then I think the town could win. And people could post their night choices themselves if they wanted, I don't think the mod should.

that's what i was getting at; yes, it makes sense in a normal game that the mafia wouldn't die at night, but no one knows what they are, so i don't think that really holds here. and if the mafia don't get killed at night, there is no point in even playing.

I am opposed to changing rules in mid-game. If you want to rewrite the rules, then you should restart. And if the mafia happen to target one of their own, then that's their bad luck.
