As the town wakes from another restful night, one of their worst fears is quickly realized. An Elder has died.

As they gather around the home of Orbiting, they need not even enter to see that she has been mercilessly slaughtered. Her head sits on a pike outside her doorway. The Maleferino have avenged their own with brutal efficiency.

Mourning the loss of the valiant hero, the town prepares to try and lynch one of her killers. All but the two remaining Maleferino, that is.

Groza's guess on the scroll is also incorrect. Shakespeare is incorrect. If no one claims it correctly within the next twenty four hours, Ameb, the first to guess, will win the scroll.

It is day. 6 to lynch.

That's not good at all. But good guess, mafia.
groza, do you have any idea of who could be mafia today? Anyone? I'm suspicious of a few people (particularly those who got good roles in PP's tarot reading--those seem to have been fairly backwards so far), but have no new solid information.

Taking the first two letters of each word anagramed, you can get amazing things like:
ELF BE AT POTHOLE
HOT PEE BLOAT ELF
ELF TABLETOP HOE
HOOPLA! ELF BETTE
ABE HELP ELF TOOT

...or... ELF BELATE PHOTO... there's a photo of a bloated elf named Bette sitting on a table in a pothole. She can't pee, but is being helped with gas situations by Abe, who's obviously paying her for 'favors'! It's all coming together now, somewhat disgustingly! What? I'm not in this mafia? Oh, thanks for showing me, but I saw the door on the way in! Aaaaah!!! Let go of my paws!

Vote: Lucky Wizard
If the third elder got an evil person, they should come out; also, groza should reveal innocents, to guide the voting.

I agree with PP that Groza should reveal the innocents that are still alive. I believe that Groza, Ameb, and Tyenar are innocent. that leaves only six people left(not including myself since I know that I'm innocent). If either of the two elders can confirm that any of the following are innocent then that will really help guide our voting:

Lucky Wizard
Jadesmar
PuzzleProdigy
ralphmerridew
SoothSayer
quercitron

For now I'm going to hold off on voting.

OK, after checking on Ameb last night we've pooled our Mason groups. The following people are townies (I won't reveal the other elder unless we're about to lynch them. It wasn't Orb.): Ameb, Lucky Wizard, PuzzleProdigy, and ralphmerridew (crackerjack). Not sure who's guilty though.

If we believe groza (and I have no reason not to), the only five people not cleared are: Jadesmar, Nauplius, quercitron, SoothSayer, Tyenar. I believe that, because of the quick bandwagon against him and his casting the last vote for mole on a bandwagon that might easily have been passed over (something that wouldn't be considered suspicious), Nauplius is probably innocent. Jadesmar, quercitron, and Sooth all had votes from known mafiosi on them (although quercitron's was very brief, and Tyenar and Naup might have had one that I missed), so that can't really be used as proof. The mafia might as easily have been voting for and fossing its own members (as some must have voted for Improbable, and Degenerate fossed mole). Nauplius, why do you think that Tyenar's probably innocent?

The reason I think tyenar is innocent is that he hasn't posted anything on the GL since the 21st and by the same token I don't think he's sending in any e-mails at night. It's not very strong evidence, more of a gut feeling really.

*sigh* It seems that i shall not see this game to it's fruition. Since Degenerate is out of the game and I know him personally, He'll take over modding the game. I think he might be out of town for a bit at one point, but it won't be more than 3 days, so that shouldn't make a huge difference. Who knows, the game might even be over by then, because Ameb has won the scroll, which never was properly solved (To those of you who didn't bother to even guess, you might have gotten lucky, you never know)

Anyway, the answer to the scroll puzzle is Hamlet the fourth of Shakespeare's Tragedies. The other three were alluded to (King Lear, MacBeth, and Othello) and Hamlet completes the group. Romeo and Juliet is not a Tragedy.

e-mail will inform Ameb of the power of the scroll.

Well, since there are two mafiosi, I don't think that really helps. I'm sure the remaining mafioso could have chosen for his family, and the reason night takes so long could be that he waits (or they waited) for Tyenar to e-mail him (or them) back? But you could be right, and the long time more likely means that either one of the elders takes a while or the remaining family members discuss with one another for a while who to kill.

I think after today, we ought to have "my" elder protect groza, while groza chooses one of the people who're left to investigate (if he gets a mafioso, we kill that person tomorrow; if he gets a townie, at least we know one more innocent person, and so have narrowed down the list even more).

Is it a better idea to risk a guess and possibly kill a townie (and ruin our lynching record, although a no kill will ruin it, too), but also possibly kill a mafioso (40% chance of hitting one), or should we try a no kill today, if we're allowed?

And can we really trust Degenerate to be fair?

Ok, with groza, Ameb, Lucky, PP, and rm(cj)... I assume that we have enough knowledge not to lynch the remaining elder. Even without accidently outing him.
Now since:
SoothSayer
Jadesmar
Nauplius
quercitron
Tyenar
Are the remaining people.

I still believe me to be innocent
I also beleive Nauplius (for now) (from his voting for himself)
That leaves me with:
Tyenar, quercitron and soothsayer. 2 maf and one elder.
vote: soothsayer

PP: It was a scry scroll. Allowed me on day one to confirm the identity of one person.
I used it on groza528 before he came out (as he was one of the 4 that did not confirm in the thread) Which did allow me to jump quickly on the Improbable bandwagon but other than that was fairly useless.
I will confirm that he is definitely an elder (in case there are lingering doubts).

Please remember, when I am revealed to be a regular elf:
Tyenar, quercitron and soothsayer are 2 maleferinos and one elder in no specific order. (if Naup is innocent)
I really can't believe that no-one has investigated me yet. Sigh.. if only Naplius was an elder, we may have had a perfect game

Going only on voting behaviour, I think Soothsayer and quercitron would be the most suspicious. Both had votes from known mafia members which had no reason behind them (only "I find you suspicious" or random votes). jdm's vote for mole in reply 90 was... strange (but not as bad as reply 108), but I didn't have a very good argument for his bandwagon anyway, especially since he was the only one of the four silent players who was mafia, so I might have easily have started a bandwagon for an elder or a townie.
By reply 99, all three known mafiosi were being voted for, and jadesmar and Sooth were on two of them.
The vote against Sooth by Degenerate seemed far more "dangerous" than mole's random vote for quercitron. quercitron said nothing in reply to this vote, or the later one by a townie (jeep), which seems odd. Querciton then was the third vote for Improbable, so maybe he figured out that groza was an elder, since he knew that Improbable was mafia, and wanted to get onto that bandwagon? quercitron also was very quick on getting on my bandwagon for Degenerate (if they're going to die, he might as well seem innocent out of it?).
Then again... jadesmar has talked at night an awful lot without getting killed.
So quercitron seems most suspicious to me (but maybe groza can figure that out tonight), but jadesmar's also suspicious. So I'll vote jadesmar today (how do we know the scry scroll didn't get Orbiting?).

I'll make it easy on you Masons. Choose someone from my list (sooth, ty, quer). Vote for them en masse. I will vote for them too.

Tonight, investigate me.

If I am killed tonight, the mason group is still at 6 members.
If not, I am either confirmed maleferino, and the mason group is at 5 members (at worst), or I am introduced to the mason group and we can vote out the remaining maleferino.

This method should (if Naup is telling the truth) lead to a flawless 5 maleferino in 5 day victory.
