With a likely investigative-roled person voting for Quailman, and someone else claiming to be able to confirm his day job, my view is that getting Quailman to reveal his role is a good idea.

Porro was raised from the dead on the 14th and hasn't posted here since then - or anywhere since the 19th. I'd sure like to know what we can find out from a revived cop. Or is he now a member of some undead society? Vampires perhaps? I didn't search the whole thread to see how he died. Is there no one to lead us in the right direction, or at least away from a wrong one?

Sorry guys, that death and resurrection took a lot out of me, and I've only just woke up

[In other words I hadn't followes the thread since I died, and didn't get any e-mail, hence I didn't realise I was alive]

Patrolman Porro reporting (belatedly) for duty.

Just looked over the last page.

Neo said:
Quote:
PP and SK are most likely some sort of watchmen. IE, they can either choose to patrol one person's street as a team and catch anybody who tries to kill that person, or they can patrol seperatly and have a lesser chance of catching or seeing the killer. I'm assuming thats what the Patrolman does, and that there are at least two teams.

To which PP responded:
Quote:
Neo, you are correct, however there is a name for our role[e]other than patrolman[/e], and another small detail that I shall not reveal quite yet

I've only quickly looked over the last page so far, so I don't know what's gone before. But I don't think it's very likely that there would be two sets of 'Patrolmen' type rolls (would there?). I was teamed with sweetwater BTW.

Sorry werebear. I was the victim of a double attack on night 1, so no result from that, and (not knowing I was alive until today) I haven't done any patroling since night 1

Fortunately (to my great relief) I've still got my e-mails form the mod & sweetwater. Suffice to say I'm not a standard investigator, but I have a chance of arresting evildoers if I catch them in the act. Night 1 I patrolled groza's street, and sweetwater took Logain's. However, I got the impression that I was specifically targeted to be killed, rather than groza attacking me for being in the vecinity.

[ooc]I suppose I should let you guys know I'm away for the weekend sans computater.

p.s. Sorry for the multiple posts. The first were done at work, the latter at home when I had access to my e-mails. In both locations, I realised additional point worthy of note after I'd posted my initial comments (and I've got this thing about avoiding editing posts - it's a phobia/neatness thing or perhaps I just find edits suspicious or something ) I noticed PP has just posted in a different thread so hopefully he'll post his roll name here before I vanish for the weekend.[/ooc]

Before you lynch me, I already told you, I'm a plain old townie. We can't all have exciting roles. One recent game I was in had me as a serial killer who could levitate large objects and drop them on my victims. I'd like to tell you that I'm a Vampire Hunter or some great role, but alas I am not. I have been investigated and came up clear, albeit as not the serial killer. I don;t have anyone who can back me up, as I am not even a mason. Let a patrolman investigate me tonight. In the meantime, look for a bad guy. Have we found any vampires yet?

BTW, the way that question was worded, anyone could have guessed that you were looking for Scotland Yard as the answer. That didn't fool anybody.

We have an idea. Of the following we supposidly know this.

Cadmium
Corsato
crazycellist - Egyptologist (Mason)
Dread Pirate Westley
Ferris - Professor van Helsing (Vampire Hunter)
L'layne - (Serial Killer Hunter)
Mike_Amok
Neo - Dr. Frankenstein (Doctor + Necromancer)
Popaboolie - Egyptologist (Mason)
Porro - Patrolman (Cop)*
PuzzleProdigy - ? (affiliated with SK)
Quailman
SaberKitty - ? (affiliated with PP)
Tyenar
Werebear
Zealot

We checked Quailman and werebear and got normal sounding "day" jobs that gave us storylines to put them with (granted given our role, we think this might have been just fluff, but hey). If Ferris tells us who is NOT a vampire, we might have a decent chance of lynching the real one and hopefully reducing the number of kills per night. Without Ferris's info that leaves only six suspects and if he could reduce it down to 4 or 5.....

Sadly, that's something I can't do.

As I stated in Reply 529 (Page 14), my role isn't an investigative one - it's basically just immunity from Count Dracula and a chance to kill him with a stake and garlic sandwich.

On balance, since he's been cleared of serial killing, and at least has a job, I'll:

Unvote: Quailman

Ferris: oops we thought the chance to kill him ment you attempted to kill someone each night. If it didn't work, he likely wasn't dracula and they wake up smelling like garlic and are none the wiser.

Well, alternatively the rest of the masons could come forward...if there are any more.

And qubird () we forgot that you sort of claimed a role, we just copied your list.

BTW, we got seems to be an ordinary victorian businessman for quailman. Unsure if this means townie.

On page 17 L'layne said in response to Quail asking if he had been investigated
quote:
Yeah, we did. You will be relieved to hear you aren't a serial killer.
But if you say exactly what your role was, the way that our e-mail from the mod was phrased may help you confirm it. He gave us what you might consider a person's "day" job if they weren't a serial-killer. I guess he was trying to stick with the theme rather then just a boring yes or no.

But Quail still hasn't given us any details, so why are people unvoting him? Unless L'layne was told he's a deck-chair attendant or life-guard (or some other sun-exposed job) he could still be a vamp. I find it suspicious that all he said earlier was that he's a normal townie, with no role details, so I'll vote: Quailman

NB roles may not be cut and dried. ~Remember Bladerunner~ He could have a 'cover role' if anyone who could not detect Vamps investigated him. Or he could even be the Godfather.

In the last page, Quercitron asked who was here and still interested in this game. I am still here. I am interested. Whenever I am on the town's side I want them to win, and whenever I am on the Mafia's (or Vampire's or other bad guys') side, I root for them. I am much more interested when I have a particular role, though, and in this game I am just another good guy. I can't investigate or communicate with anyone at night. I don't have a mason group to vote with or plot voting strategies. And unforutnately in this round I haven't seen any reason to vote for anyone in particular. This morining someone put my name out at random. The only logic to back me up said "I investigated him and he was not the bad guy (serial killer) I was looking for." I know this doesn't exonerate me. I could be another bad guy, but I am not, so why not have a vampire hunter or cop investigate me tonight and look for a true bad guy today?

Sorry. Missed that. What I meant was that it didn't prove anything. I had typed that last post hastily, as I have been very busy with IRL meetings, just posting quickly during breaks. I don't suspect you guys. In fact, if one pair investigates someone suspicious, the other could investigate me tonight, now that we know there are two teams and can coordinate them.

Our investigations:

Quailman, as we said, "appears to be an ordinary Victorian businessman."

Werebear, since he asked, was a (non serial killer) Egyptian merchant. The exact wording on that may be a little off.

The third night, Groza was found to be the serial killer. "A Jack the Ripper type."
