Geez, it's at the bottom of the page, it's not like I saw it.
Anyway, Cadmium's post started off with a bunch of speculation, a guess, and then "oh, hey, let's just kill someone." Just seemed odd. |

Sorry all, I was unable to get on the computer these past few days, and the future looks kinda busy.
Anyway, I really have no vote, so...
Vote and Confirm: Current Player with most votes
If the player with the most votes changes, my vote changes to that one.
If my vote would be the deciding vote, my vote doesn't count.
If this is confusing to the mod and/or a majority of the players, then:
Vote: Kazooish (Random Choice)

| Degenerate, I was joking. If you ever watch the show The Osbournes, it seems like every other word out of Ozzy's mouth is bleeped out. Just like Mole's post. Ha Ha. Get it? He's Ozzy Osbourne!! Actually, I was trying to make light of what I felt to be an uncomfortable and out of character post by Mole. Don't know what exactly set him off, but he's been voted before and never flipped out like that. SO the only thing I could think is that he was IN character (rock star sort of profanity way) and rather than accuse him of someone he could be since I don't know, I picked someone that he certainly can't be. That's all. |

Mole probably has a "characteristic". This makes me think he is something other than dangerous (making someone an insane killer and forcing them to shout obscenties like a mad man would be pretty cruel). So I'm not going to vote for him.
But I agree with Soothsayer's sentiment. It's the first day.

quote: You want to decrease the amount of actively participating players and that magically gets us MORE information? About whom? The actively participating players? That your theory just reduced by one? Right. Why don't we see who's unwilling to vote for the lurkers? *cough*pp*cough**cough*
Killing silent players is "a stupendously good tactic" on any day. In theory, practice and principle.
A) The last two lines. You haven't even attempted to show that. You've only attempted to refute my statement.
B)The two lines before that. You imply that I'm mafia. Care to back that up?
C) The first three lines. Acting incredulous isn't a logical argument.
Finally, I restate my argument.
We lynch...
A silent person
We get:
Their role
A loud person
We get:
Their role, and who they may be related to (which we can divine from their posts).
We also get:
Information about everyone who voted for them and also those who refused to vote for them. (Admittedly, long-term benefits)
Also: If they are mafia, a significant decrease in the disinformation flow.
Damelon: Keep the emotions in check.
Unvote: mith

First and formost it is important IMO to punish non-posters by voting for them thereby encouraging people, in the big picture, to post. Think beyond this game for one second. What is the recurring whine in every damn game? "It's so quiet/no one is voting" or whatever along those lines. Do you know why? BECAUSE WE, THE PLAYERS, TOLERATE IT AND LET IT HAPPEN. Voting for non/quiet posters is sound Principle.
Killing silent people encourages the mafia to speak. And they will influence each other to speak in their nightly discussions. The more the mafia speaks the more chance we have to catch them, if we allow them to be silent we gain nothing from them. If we sacrifice a townie who obviously didn't want to play it's well worth the information we gain from the talkative mafia. Voting for non/quiet posters is sound Theory.
Four out of 5 mafia hunters surveyed found voting for silent jerks fruitful. The fifth one was actually mafia scum. Voting for non/quiet posters is sound Practice.
Finally, I'd just like to say that your argument is the perhaps the poorest for the first round that I have ever heard. Maybe in another round but the first? Voting randomly for a talker is just as random as a random vote for a silent person and as likely to produce any information. It is rare that anyone says anything worth a crap in the first round and who votes for the lynchee is more important by far than what was said by that unfortunate. So it may as well be anyone and for the sake of the game I'd rather vote for someone who isn't actually playing. |

| I agree that voting for quiet players is good. I think that we should ask the mod to replace silent players, not to lynch them away (unless we have some sort of evidence against them). |

Hey everybody, I'm back. I've just been reading through the thread and I've noticed that since I left there is SO MUCH new information to go on.
Before I do anythnig, I'm going to Unvote: Damelon, as it was just an early random guess, and so far his posts haven't stood out in any important way. Except for his last few which just plain started to get fiesty!!
Although this is a slightly abstract and possibly a little too strongly motivated way of making a point, he does have one against you, PP. You do put up a reasonable argument about the whole silent player/loud player thing, but it still doesn't acknowledge the fact that if you kill/lynch off all the loud players, there's going to be no one around to do anything.
But anyway, this, as I see it, is not enough to really go on, so no votes against you yet. But I will issue an FOS: Both Damelon and PP and anyone else involved in this somewhat pointless argument for making such a big deal over different peoples playing strategies. Now, the two of you, shake hands and make up...
Anyway, down to business. What I am going to do is Vote: IH8 for not offering any real defense to the votes made against his name, but instead choosing the cheap way out and not voting for anyone in particular, just he/she with the most votes. If he didn't put in the little disclaimer about not being the deciding vote, we may not have had to worry about anyone being the clincher. He could've made the final vote for himself and sealed the deal...

| I would like to Unvote: Cadmium. There are better reasons right now to vote for someone. Mole was attacked the very first day with a reason, but the bandwagon started rolling very fast. He has a good chance to die tonight if he isn't protected. Ih8 seems the best target right now. Just to make sure someone gets lynched (and not Mole, whom I believe is innocent) I'll Vote: Ih8 |
