I'm not making fun of you at all GC, it confuses me too when people post votes twice without saying things like "revote" or "confirm" because i often to quick counts and don't pay attention to who's voting.
And my editing of my post was to fix the OMGUS explanation, because as i had it, it looked like OMGYS. I didn't change what you quoted |

Now I'm confused. Wordcross posting when he's not in this game, and Magus referring to that post in the first person.
And to correct the bolding from my last post, since I never ever edit my Mafia game posts:

Votes for yourself do count. So don't go overboard making a point (as in, casting the final vote for yourself to be lynched).
Deadline for Thursday at 4:00pm EST. It's very much flexible, if conversation flares up for some odd reason. |

I don't like to see a person give up by voting for himself. Also, I once started a bandwagon on someone who had edited a post and turned out to be a townie. I now realize (or strongly suspect) that editing posts is not a sign of guilt or innocence. It's just a screw-up.
On the other hand, we have nothing to go on, so I might as well climb on.

KingPin - Trevize
ralphmerridew - RubberDuck
Magus - Sparticus, ralphmerridew, Magus, Quailman, jesternl, crackerjack
Nobody ever liked Magus. Magus didn't even like Magus. Hell, everyone was happy to see the guy go, so it was more or less in agreement to lynch the poor guy before the sun set. As the town searched for a rope to string Magus up, they discovered they were in a rather "short" supply. Literally, that is. As it turned out, the only rope in Bombersville were wicks.. for bomb fuses, no less (and.. so.. get it? "short," and "wicks?" Hahaha! ..Laugh, dammit. I'm the mod. ). After a short discussion, the town gathered around Magus, glued him down to a slab of stone, duct taped some dynomite into his mouth, and lit the fuse.
Needless to say, everyone ran to their homes - just in time to hear Magus blow. And just in time, too. The sun set, blanketing Bombersville in darkness once again.
It's night.

KingPin stood in his garage, taking turns between conversing on a walkie talkie and cleaning his bomb kit that rested on the hood of his beat up station wagon. Every so often, he would reach over to grab a mouthful of chips that were scattered on a plate resting beside the kit, and shove them into his mouth. While polishing up a pair of wire cutters, his body resting against the grill of the car, an unmistakable *clink clink* sounded beneath his vehicle. KingPin paused, cocked his head to the side, and listened. Then, things clicked - his eyes widened, and before he could let out a scream, the garage was engulfed in flames; another well placed grenade exterminated one more townsmember of Bombsville.
It's day. Nine citizens left alive. Five to lynch. |

| Hmm... We can't tell anything frmo yesterday. Is a bomb squad member the same as a cop? He voted "randomly" for crackerjack and never posted again. I doubt that means anything. If he's a cop, he probably got an innocent on someone other than crackerjack. Anyone else have any thoughts? |

Does the walkie talkie mean he has a partner/accomplice? Normally cops don't have the option to talk to others, and neither do docs..

Maybe the Bomb Squad is some sort of mason group. Who knows. However, I would agree that KingPin had at least one other partner. As to what his exact role was, we can only guess.

I'm glad you guys read that closely. All I saw was Kingpin - Bomb Squad - Dead. So, cops who communicated. So hopefully his night one investigation will not be lost, assuming he/they are cop-like people. Perhaps they are docs, though, choosing to protect people and defusing a bomb lobbed their way. They would be unable to stop it if they're the target, or they designate of per night and it was his partner on patrol.
All speculation. Anyone who knows about the actual role is probably having a good laugh right about now. |

Yeah, they're probably just an ordinary mason group who can't do squat. Anyhoo, any suggestions for a Day 2 target? Trevize voted for KingPin, but that probably is just coincidence. I'm clueless.

Well, this is lagging. Let's see if we can't get everyone talking.
Hmm...so far we have a Freelance Bodyguard (sounds like a Bodyguard or a Doc role to me) and a Bomb Squad Member (mason sounds about right) dead, as well as a simple Townie. I wonder how many special roles there are. If there are Masons, are we thinking 3 Mafia? Also, I can't believe there would be a game called Bomber Mafia without some type of Town vigilante - a bomber on the Town's side.
Scheme Idea.
1. Mafia
2. Mafia
3. Mafia
4. Mason
5. Mason
6. Vigilante [invisible]as I said, I'll be shocked if there isn't one.[/i]
7. Doctor
8. Cop
9. Townie
10. Townie
11. Townie
12. Townie
The problem with the above setup is that it's highly biased towards Town, unless A) Mafia have special abilities or B) Cop isn't sane or C) Cop doesn't exist. Since there isn't much point in having one non-sane Cop, I'm leaning towards A or C. Or perhaps the Mafia have role names and the Cop only gets the name of the role, and not affiliation.
One more idea. Now that Q1 nears completion, and TANSTAAFL is dead in that game, I can tell you about the Encyclopedia Bomber role. It's an SK who plants a bomb in one person's house each night, but they don't die. Instead, everyone except the SK dies at once, but only if everyone besides the SK has been bombed. I doubt the Mod has gone mind-reading lately, but it's possible for an idea to occur to more than one person, so that's something to think about. Maybe the Bomb Squad person or people could defuse planted bombs.
We didn't gain much information from yesterday, so I'll just look at the Magus bandwagon.
Originally posted by Mod: Sparticus, ralphmerridew, Magus, Quailman, jesternl, crackerjack
Sparticus is throwing off innocent vibes, and Magus is dead. That leaves rm, Quailman, jesternl, and cj. rm threw off a "Bandwagon!" as he joined, but he was only the second person. It's possible he misread, thought there were already two Magus votes (I messed around with Magus because he was voting me for no reason,) and took the nice easy Mafia opportunity ("Yes, I'm shamelessly bandwagoning for information!") But he's not nearly suspicious as the three who jumped on after Magus claimed Townie. After all, at that point anyone with a special role had no idea if the scheme even included Townies, and if Magus were Mafia he probably wouldn't have claimed it, along with voting himself, so early. Quailman especially gets an FOS because he should know better. I'm unwilling to accuse anyone of stupidity though...after all, it was the first day. I'll confine myself to voting (almost) randomly and vote: crackerjack, last on the bandwagon, a fairly logical player, and very silent.

| Ooh, I have an even better idea! I could make an interesting post, full of analysis, asking for input, and in the next 24 hours NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON COULD REPLY. Even to say "querci you suck," and vote for me without a single reason, which is about what I'd expect from some of you. Is anything going to happen? Am I going to be the only one voting come the deadline the Mod will have to impose? Are we even going to try to catch Mafia? Sheesh, as a Mod myself I can understand when one or two or three are quiet, but hell, can we just have one more person talking? |

There's plenty to go on! I'll give you a couple things to go on, from my standpoint.
1. I am innocent.
2. Sparticus is very likely a Bomb Squad Member, and they are very likely masons. They also very likely have some sort of special ability, which is being downplayed, which is good. Keep the Mafia guessing.
3. There were probably 1 or 2 Mafia on the bandwagon yesterday, but I doubt it was heavily pushed by the Mafia. It would make more sense for them to let Townies jump on the "post-editing" thing and then push Magus over the edge. jesternl and cj both fit this criterion. I would be equally happy to vote for either one of them, except I want to get cj talking, so there will be more discussion and tomorrow this list can have a 4. |

Well, that does it. Great defense, jesternl. And by great, I mean...oh wait, this isn't sarcastic Mafia. Seriously, what the hell? Have you even been reading the posts? Sparty has all but shouted "hey, I was a Mason with KingPin;" besides myself, he's the highest likely innocent on my list. And the lack of any reasoning for the Magus bandwagon (yesterday's was "I hate agreeing with Quailman ") or anything other than "You suck!" is enough for me.
Vote: jesternl. And yes, this is a shameless attempt to get you to claim a role. And yes, I will be annoyed if you're another Doctor or a vest or something and you get lynched, so no one add two more votes on top of this yet....yet meaning that if jesty doesn't talk, feel free to.

And your infallible sense of reasoning has old you what exactly? That I'm not coming out with sound arguments because nobody has done very much yet that I can go on. Sparticus seems to has a thing for me, and I don't like, nor trust) his so called random vote. I like other people jumping on the bandwagon even less though, especuially if they force me to claim my role. With 4 votes of the required 5 I have no other option though.. and if the mafia jumps on this chance to get me lynched, we will know who to thank..
I'm a K-9 patrol. Every night I go out with my dog to sniff out explosives. Effectively I am a cop. Yes I have thought of the fact that more than likely everyone in this town will set my dog off, but since I have gotten two innocents so far, I guess the mod took care of that.
I'd rather not reveal who I found innocent, for obvious reasons.

Sparticus' 'random' vote appears to have started a bandwagon. If you hadn't been so eager to switch to Magus yesterday and start that bandwagon, I'd place more stock in your voting jester two days in a row. Jester pointed out the accomplice bit that I had overlooked in the daybreak post. Not a sign of innocence, but at least he's added to the discussion. I resent the "I hate agreeing with Quailman" comment. Now (while I was typing this and getting distracted by IRL business) he claims to be a cop with two innocents. The irony is that he could be competent, but have a worthless dog.
Crackerjack cast the deciding vote yesterday. Bad guys generally go out of their way not to cast deciding votes. Kingpin had been voting for him, though. And now he's suspiciously silent. Hmmm. And where are Trevize and ralphmerridew?

Jesternl - am I wrong in my reasoning that yes you should come out with whom you investigated to far.
I think King Pin role sounds more like a doctor than a mason group. There has only been one night kill which leads me to believe that there 1 mafia and no serial killer. In which case 2-3 mafia, 1 cop, 1 doctor. Having a mason group would be uneven to a town with only one killing group.
If I am correct in my reasoning you will be targeted tonight and no doctor to save you. Thus maybe telling us who you have investigated will be an advantage to the town.

~looks to see when the doc died~
Oh, the body guard is probably a doc in this town, since a traditional doc could do little to reassemble the tiny bits strewn about following an explosion. Yes, we probably need to know who you've investigated. There are nine alive. If we know three innocents (you and two others), there is a 50-50 chance (3 of 6?) of nailing a bad guy today. Of course, you'll die tonight, so we'll still need some help. Plus, if your dog's sniffer is shot, then your investigations are no good anyway. |
