The town gathers, stretching and counting, counting and stretching, then counting some more, and recounting. Nobody's dead!

Err, wait a second, I counted myself twice, and umm...where's Degenerate?

You run to the hotel where he was staying. A tall lead box sits in the lounge room. None of the town knew what it was, but a person with their face unrecognizable lay dead in front of it.

It was a plain lead block, with a shiny red button, and a trapdoor above the button. The town, using a large stick, pressed the button from a distance. The trapdoor flew open, and out flew an anvil on a giant spring. On the anvil was engraved....

An anvil; An anvil; For Degenerate!
Drop Dead; Drop Dead; You ugly old git!
One by one, Take the town down.
One by one, every night around!

The body with its face smashed by a fast flying anvil was none other than Dr. Degenerate.

Well thats ....

Doctor - Gaspode
Doctor - Kazooish
Doctor - Groza
Doctor - Degenerate
BodyGuard - Soothsayer/Vegt
BodyGuard - Sparticus

Hmmm.... How about this

If all the remaining doctors agreed to reveal and form a line. Lets say 3 doctors, A, B, C.
A protects B, B protects C, and C protects A. Now this is an unbreakable chain provided THAT A,B,C are Truthful about being doctors - and the mafia CAN NEVER win since the doctors will never die.

But if Person B is mafia, He knows he cannot kill A since C is protecting him! But... he knows he or his cronies can attack C. But if C dies its obvious who the mafia IS!

Now there are problems with this scenario.
1. If A,B,C get to the final day - who then do they lynch.
Possible Solution: Doctors vote No lynch. The game draws, but is better than a town loss.
2. The mafia outnumber the docs, eg 3 mafia 2 docs, and A and C get lynched.
3. There are more than one mafia claiming doc ....
4. The mafia know who all the docs are.
5. One doc comes out and reveals, and horrors hes the only sodding doctor left.

Is there anyway this can be twisted to turn this game on its head. Can we get a plan - or is it too late....

Is point 3 overcomable?
Is point 4 really that bad if we have the numbers....
Will point 5 be the most likely situation as I suspect it is...

Bleh I didnt think of this earlier....

Anyway

Please discuss. Its about time the Grey Labyrinth used its formidable powers of logic.....

The chain isn't unbreakable; if a person protected by only one doctor is attacked by two bad guys on one night, he dies. And I think there are at least three evil killers out there.

Question to Neo: You wrote a near-death scene for Hitchhiker the first night, but there have been no near-death scenes since then. Is this because you stopped writing them, or because they have not occurred?

Your wrong ralphmerridew,

When writing Ent Mafia I asked Neo amongst others for advice on how he works doctors to see what was the best way of handling doctors. Neo and at least 3 other well known mods do "one doc protects against ALL night kills".

But maybe we should ask?

Neo: Do doctors protect against 1 kill only or all kills regardless of number?

Perhaps I was wrong. I was under the impression that 1 doctor blocks 1 kill was usual practice. I'll wait to see Neo's response.

BTW, your post should have said "You're wrong."

And where is everyone?

Contractions are to be avoided as often as possible. It should be You are wrong.

Except in special circumstances, one doc protects against all kills.

The town drags Jadesmole away. It was his own bad luck that he chose today to sleep in.

The deed is done and they search his belongings. They find a recently purchased game of Clue, and several throwing throwing knives.

Jadesmole, Serial Killer, has been lynched. It is night. Choices due by Wednesday.

The town wakes up and as usual, goes to Officer ralphmerridew's house, but ralphmerridew is missing. The sheep unt high and the sheep hunt low, but they cannot find him. All through the house you see broken stuff and holes in the wall, and a psycological evaluation stating that ralphmerridew had anger management and rage problems. One particular sheep with a keen eye for antiques took a moment to study the bedroom and found an old typewriter. In it was typed 'rAlPHmErRiDeW - I kno you like yor name spelt rigt, but yr dEad, so INVESTIGATE US NOW YOU GRAVEYARD RIDDEN BED WORM! HOW DARE YOU UNVEIL ANY OF US!!!' The body of Officer ralphmerridew is nowhere to be found. One can only wonder what happened to his body, and shudder.

Then somebody notices Corsato is missing. You run to his house, he was a doctor! You run to the hospital and to the nurses station. "Paging Dr. Corsato. Dr. Corsato. Paging Dr. Corsato." As the sheep wait, a few get hungry, having missed breakfast, and sneaks into the break room to peek in the fridge, and scream. A box is inside, a very bloody box. Nearby is a very bloody melonballer. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what happened. The mere thought of it causes several people to puke on the floor, and run to the office of Dr. Crackerjack, only to find he has been neatly shot between the eyes.

Officer ralphmerridew and Doctors Corsato and Crackerjack are dead.

The town has had another crappy night. With 9 of the original 36 remaining, there is 5 to lynch.

Post analysis of Jesternl.

Post 80: Mused on Antrax being jumpy. Bandwaggoned SK. Was 11th vote of 14

Post 81: Unvoted SK due to a simulpost

Post 158: Muses about being a lot of killers, and a lot of doctors.

Post 299: Lets us know he is following the thread and doesnt want to end up like Fezzik. 5th on the bandwagon.

Post 312: Commented on the unlikelihood of Fezzik being a doc.

Post 337: Follows the cop. 5th on the bandwagon.

Summary - Nothing incriminating, but his lack of posting is a worry. Six posts in the game. I have been stung by the whole Fezzik fiasco, but the odds of lynching scum must surely being going up?
Jesternl has not tried to begin anything, or use anylogic, all votes to date have been bandwagon votes, but his willingness to back off on SK who asked for 24 hours gives him a little more credibility - but probably means nothing.

Just 1 thing I have noticed. Players that comment on 'number of killers' or styles of kill tend to be scum more often than not - but not really a good indicator of a useful vote.

So FOS Jesternl - but im holding back on voting for the moment.

I think Dr Chaining is likely gone out the window now - but I thought that yesterday too - and there were two other docs then....

My two cents worth is I think that most of the player left are either SK's or Dr's. Amb sounds like he could be a Dr but not going to follow him this time.

I have a hunch that Polotet is a SK or scum so vote: polotet

He was quick to jump on both of the recent bandwagons without saying much. So there it is. Just a hunch but willing to go further than a wussy FOS [amb ]

This is going nowhere, so I might as well give the killers a reason to target me. I'm a Cop, proven sane to my own satisfaction through investigations. I have two innocents. Polotet is not one of them, so Vote: Polotet. I'm unwilling to give the names out when there can still be three kills in one night.

And we need participation.

I guess I'll claim, then. I, like Porro, am a priet. What does this mean? It means I can't be the deciding vote for a lynch. There's also another element to my role, that other priests, if any exist, will notice as missing, but I don't want to reveal it because it will not help the town at all and it will help the mafia.

Querci says he is cop. Says to vote for Polotet

Polotet reacts and says he is a priest.

Cop = Likely role
Priest = Likely role (see Porro)

Ruling.

Vote Polotet
