Welcome to Redwall...
Sort of, anyway. You see, there's been a bit of a dispute recently. Emperor Ublaz has been hunting for the greatest treasures of the sea, the Pearls of Lutra, and he's found them. Here. To avoid bloodshed, we've agreed to let his followers in to settle this in the ages-old "mafia" fashion. But, some of his former allies are revolting, and it's gotten sticky as of late...
Shall we settle this?

I have not received confirmatiions from the following:

crackerjack
Specter
TheOtherKatie
Trevize
Werebear

Day breaks promptly at 4 PM GL time on Monday afternoon.

If you have not confirmed by that time, you will be temporarily locked out of the voting and you will not count towards a majority. If you fail to confirm by the end of that day, you will be replaced. This policy will be in effect for the entire game: if you fail to post during a day, you will have until the end of the next day to post or email me. End ultimatum.

Well, the game begins, unhappily for quite a few of you.

First, we do a headcount.

After 1 night:
20 remaining.

But who is missing?

Well, Kazooish, for one.

A green-feathered arrow through his chest marks the spot.
He was the stoat Barranca, of the Wave Brethren.

Also, the shooter, Green Crayons, recently known as Grath Longfletch (Otter), is dead from a saber thrust and a trident stab. The exact cause of death is uncertain.

Finally, we have Sparticus. Oh dear. The formidable Monitor General, Lask Frildur, was killed by being pecked to death.

Kazooish (Barranca)- Arrow
Green Crayons (Grath)- Saber and Trident
Sparticus (Lask)- Pecked to death

In other news:

casinopete is sick today, and unable to vote.

Trevize failed to confirm by the deadline, and is locked out for the day.

There are 18 eligible voters, therefore it is 10 to lynch.
The day ends Saturday at noon, GL Time.

Cripes, 3 dead and one sick!

As far as I know all otters are good. Stoats, I'm not so sure about. I'm reading the first book at present and in that weasles are bad, so I'd guess stoats are too.

Now I thought 3 kills was alot for a game this size, but it appears that the otter was killed by two critters (saber thrust and trident stab). Of course, some of the kills may have been 'passive', as a result of someone trying to do something to a good guy, which hopefully means that we won't have 4 killers at work every night.

Random Vote: Werebear to get things underway.

because, when you have eliminated the improbable, whatever remains,
however impossible, must be the crackerjack.

Ahh, first day and the random bandwagoning. I'm going to go with Jajsoccer, because of the post edit. If he/she was a newbie to mafia games, it would be understandable, but at his/her level, it's suspicious. I know this logic is kinda weak, but its the only logic I see.

I would vote for crackerjack for that, but a second vote isn't really an OMGUS vote....so I'll point a FOS: crackerjack instead.

As I haven't read the books, I can't be sure as to what these deaths mean. If what's been said (by others) is true, Grath Longfletch appears to have been a vigilante type. That leaves three other attacks. As vigilantes tend to have limited attacks/attack capabilities, from what I recall, others like Grath may have been using their attacks up, in event of their death night 1 - hopefully (as Porro said) we will not have this many attacks as often. I'm also counting on the assumption that the doctors missed the attackees last night!

Vote DarkBlade for being the first to try create a bandwagon and being the third vote - the mafia's reserved spot.

In the Mossflower mafia game, there was an eagle as a serial killer. I see Sparticus was pecked to death.

PP is there an eagle in the Pearls of Luntra book?

To answer casinopete's query, the dawn post says you can't vote. It doesn't say anything about not talking. As we all know the more talk, the better for the town.

unvote: improbable
vote: carebear

I would like to know what the difference is between voting and stating it was random, or making a random vote under the guise of a really lame joke. No one (other than an investigator) has any real good reasons of making a first day vote. You pick someone via a roll of the dice, or some other equally lame way. I picked improbable because I thought I could write something somewhat humorous (although it wasn't very). No other reason. This makes me suspicious?

I am switching my vote to carebear because of this comment: "it is more likely that non-active roles are not posting up to now." This must mean that since she posted, she must have an active role. Although it could be doc or cop, it could very well be mafia.
