NEW RULES:
In the town of Old Hollow, everyone has a home. Within each home, there are hiding places. When something comes to the door of your house to kill you, it doesn’t know whereabouts within your home that you are hiding. If you are lucky, you might evade the assassin by sneaking under your bed or locking yourself in a cupboard.
Whenever you are a target, you will be informed by email. You must reply ASAP with your hiding place. For a list of hiding places in your domicile, see above. If you reply with a hiding place not appropriate to you domicile, you will not hide and you will be killed by your attacker. If you do not reply promptly (at the moderator’s discretion), you will not hide and you will be killed by your attacker.
Even if you have a small house, do not worry too much. There are carpenters in town who can add extensions to your homes.
OLD RULES:
- When a majority is reached, a victim is lynched
- Deadlines may be imposed if progress is slow
- Players may declare a "NO VOTE" after which they must remain silent for the remainder of the day
- As soon as night falls, no posts can be made
- As soon as night falls, please try to get your choices in ASAP
- If you die, do not post (unless of course to signal your displeasure E.G. "Urgh.. bleh.. god damnned fools.. etc.")
- Communication with other players (outside of the BB) is a big taboo unless it is night time and you have been specifically told by the moderator that your role has that functionality
- A copy of all night communication must be forwarded to the mod (Because it's more fun for me!)
- If you do not post for over a week and you have not given reason, the mod may seek replacements
- If the mod makes a contraversial decision and you disagree with it, please make your displeasure known via email (IE Do not clog up the BB) and we will see what can be done about it
- New roles and new game mechanics will be explained at the initiation of the game
- No quoting emails or other means of communication from the Moderator (From Quercitron's Rules)

The crowd whisper and shuffle in the dusty town square. The old magistrate slams the rickety wooden door behind him. A noose hangs from a timber gallows, fresh nails glinting at its corners in the bright afternoon. A gentle breeze stirs the hot desert air and with it, the town begins to murmur.
“Lynch?...”
“Gotta be kidding..”
“Them scum sure ain’t gonna like that an’ that’s for sure..”
“Every day?..”
“It’ll be chaos…”
The door bursts open. The old magistrate, red faced, brings a wide-mouthed elephant rifle to bear upon the townsfolk. The corner of his mouth twitches.
“Any you hotshots gettin any ideas and I’ll smoke ya where ya lie, ye hear? Now get yourselves back home…”
The crowd begins to separate. Each man eyes the next, unsure of what to think. Sebastian was always a little cuckoo, but he was right. Everyone knew that the Mafia owned Old Hollow. Everyone knew that they weren’t going to leave. And nobody really cared.
When his little girl was found down at the quarry this morning, that’s when people started to care. The mafia had been killing for years, but they never touched Seb's family. What made them change their minds, nobody knew, but surely they forsaw what was to come. He brought her corpse back to his old hut and rang the village bell, then he got out his hunting rifle. He told everyone the way it was to be. Some disagreed. A couple of those ones had their concerns answered with lead. Most, however, nodded and sighed. Everyone knew the worst was yet to come.
But that was then and the those hours have long since passed. Twilight descends and the lights twinkle out in the desert town. Anxious mothers bolt their doors. Fathers lock the shutters. A dog barks nearby the highway. Meanwhile, over a bottle of brandy, the scum plot their attack. Who knows anything about their operation? Where do we strike first? They load their pistols and whisper their clandestine machinations.
And as they plan, a pair of lights rise over the hillside and a great juggernaut pulls to a stop.

A lizard hopped from a window ledge into the street from a dusty old house. The floorboard creaked. It was black under the bed. Black and warm. A tickling bead of sweat rolled down Leo’s nose as he pressed himself to the floor. His breathing was still. His eyes were pressed tight. A gentle breeze stirred the curtains. He couldn’t hear them anymore.
It was quiet. Leo had rolled under his bed when he heard the sound of somebody at his front door. He had been hiding there for at least two hours. He would have to get out soon. He shifted his knee toward the end of the bed. Creak. He caught a sharp movement in the corner of his eye and scampered over to the corner of the room. A hot pressure blazed down his jaw.
…
The assassin pulled a mask over his face and loaded a long, shining black shotgun. It was heavy and powerful. With the weighty gun resting on his forearm, the assassin padded into the darkness. Leo was here somewhere. He had searched the grounds, the cupboards and even the bedroom, but was he there? No. This was supposed to be an easy hit. Hesu Diego said he was to whack Leo tonight. How could he do it if he wasn’t *?#@ing there? Creak… What the hell was that? Ahaha, Leo, getting clumsy are we? The assassin padded back into the bedroom, peering slowly around the corner of the doorframe. It was quiet and dark. A shadow moved somewhere in the corner.
“Hey Leo, you’re numbers up, punk?”
The shape stayed still where it crouched.
“Hey Leo, you hear me?”
It began to turn slowly on the spot. There was something unsettling in the way that it moved. The assassin backed away. The shape looked up, moonlight slashing across its face.
“Holy Jesus, what the #’!%?”
His stomach lurched.
Oozing, fat polyps darted from its hollow eyes. Its gaping, pointed maw opened wide. The assassin gaped and stumbled back in terror. Gnashing tongues, like a torrent of angry snakes, whirled and snapped at the air. Yellowed, translucent boils began to pop up along its back as it stood up and roared. It was the most shrill and painful sound that he could bear. Squinting and screaming in terror, the assassin aimed the shotgun. BLAAAAMMMMM! Dust sprayed from the torn, shell ridden walls.
BLAAAAMMMM!
Outside, a lizard watched as the windows burst and shattered. BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! A moment later a man in black stepped out of Leo’s house, cursing profanely as hew went.
Leonidas, an Alien, has been killed
IT IS DAY 1 – 8 to Lynch |

It's strange... you don't know if the aliens' kills were spread out and missed, whether the assassins did the same, or even if the aliens kill. I'd think they would... and I think Leonidas was hiding in the bedroom and just got caught. All in all a pleasing night.

Random Vote: Darkblade
Yes it is strange. But maybe the point is not to kill but to subdue and inhabit their targets. And the point should be made that it would be pretty dificult to kill someone that can hide in more than one place!
All in all, I agree a very pleasing night for the town!! |

To the mod: It would be preferable if you put the "# to lynch" with each vote update for convenience.

And actually, since I'll probably be targeted tonight after a post like that anyhow, I might as well role claim: I'm a cop. My name is Dr. Leviticus and I can investigate one person each night to see if they're an alien. *sigh* so much for concealing the role...*goes of grumbling* |

The Levite,
Your claim that you are a cop, specifically a cop that searches for aliens is very interesting. I suppose that this is a possibility, but that would leave a huge hole for the mafia to walk through, unless there were specific cops that only detect whether or not a person is mafia. This person would also be oblivious to whether or not they were checking an alien for mafia ties..... interesting.
With your role claim I am guessing that you made an investigation last night. Would you care to release that information?
The jobs of the cops would be complicated by this, I think. Each person would have to be cleared by two cops. i.e. not mafia, not alien. I am guessing that both would be bad, but without overlapping results the town might get screwed. |

| Kingpin: You do have a point there, and I admit that I thad occured to me. But I'm not entirley sure that there arn't two mafia factions at war here. The "aliens" and the traditional mafia. Because, at the beginning Leo didn't seem to be an alien, or am I seeing this wrong? He seems to have been caught twice, once when the "hot pressure blazed down his jaw" and then when he was shot in the head by the assassin. It was my assumption that someone, was wanting to kill Leo and that the "alien" mafia go to him first. Either way the problem that you have mentioned sitll applies. As for my investigation, it came up clean, I investigated jadesmar. I got an email saying that Jadesmar was human as the rest of us, but there was also a reference that gives a very strong impression that that might change. This lends to my theory of two mafia families. |

| Anyone ever seen the movie "The Thing"? It's a great movie. The alien in that will take the form of one of the people, but if it gets caught, it starts spazzing out and taking it's normal form (Bloody, deranged, and lots and lots of teeth) I think this works sorta like that. Basically, i think leo was always an alien. Hearing that thing about the alien specific cop gives me an interesting idea. What if the mods through in an alien that was with the mafia? Mafia betrayer type thing, wins as SK. Somone threw something like that into a chat game the other day... |

Ooops...letme finish that last post.
I was also thinking that with the ability to hide at night, having to have 2 investigators clearing someone wouldn't be quite as bad...ie less chance of night kills = more nights for investigation. Just a thought.
And the Thing was a great movie (the remake at least...never saw the original). |
