Some of us are still waiting for clarification of our roles. I e-mailed him over 2 days ago, and I'm still waiting.

In the mean time: Random vote: gaspode It's day 1 all over again.

Courk- the role he (mark jt) sent you is more than likely correct.

Now, *I think* that the roles we had in the last game are the same ones in this game. This should be a great strength to the town...

Any currect town member (or mafia I guess) who was evil in the past want to give us a head count? I think that would be helpful in deciding if there are two or three evils remaining.

I know it's correct, but it also seemed a bit vague.

If the roles stay the same, werebear is an evil role.

actually, what I am thinking is that we had these roles in Part I
a (evil)
b
c
d
Now, in Part II, we have these roles
a(evil)
b
c
d
BUT they are assigned to different people.

So, I am wondering is if this is really true. I would ask if anyone was KankiHund, but we would only lose a mason by doing that tonight.
Here is what I believe:
-giving away information that only you shared about part I is helpful to the town.
-the roles have been scattered

so, what roles do we have now-
3(or 4?) mafia
1(or 2?) cops
1(or 2?) masons? (that can recruit???)
??? docs??1 zombie-dp?
the rest =townies?

so, i'm gathering that courk was werebear and mafia?
and if her side changed, then someone, perhaps someone who we thoguht was good? is now evil?

also, incase anyone cared.. i was hy- i think neo accidenty posed it for someone elses role or whatever...

---so do we understand our roles now?---
can we start again?
it dosen't bode well with me to have a prevous dead player come back to life...vote: dp however flimsy the logic is..i't s better than random

A big fat FOS to anyone voting for me because I came back from the dead. The new mod asked me if I wanted back in, and I did. My new role has nothing to do with my old role, or with the fact that I died before.

3(or 4?) mafia in a 9 player game? Let's try to be a bit more reasonable, shall we.

This is a new start. It's a 9 player mini. I expect 1 mafia, maximum 2. No masons. One cop, and probably a doc if there are 2 mafia. The rest townie.

I am thinking two mafia
I am thinking two masons (based on the fact I was a mason before)
I am thinking a cop or two half cops
I am thinking a protection role
I am thnking of some other three/two roles...wacko as expected by neo.

well, there were three mafia before, so if only one changed sides, then there are 2- but since we've got a new person, dp, there could be 3- the parathenses were just because of my inability to balance games...

so, if we have 2 maf, 1 cop, and 1 doc, you really think we would have 5 townies?

the fact that dp was added-even before he knew what was going on, makes me his role is there to balance the game... could he be an sk? i mean with only one killing party the game would last quite a while longer. could be (since we're starting with day) 5 days... i think another sk was added to eventhings out.

i think i'll keep my vote on dp- even though it shouldn't matter, i dont' think the roles were newly randomly assigned.... so i think we needed an sk, which could be why they added you. ()

RNG Vote: Gaspode

Still confused, but I am guessing that Neo had a set of roles ready to distribute for any given number of remaining people (or any odd number, thus the add-back of DP), and they are independent of the then-living roles.

Quailman wrote on the dust, with a yellowish-brown gem:
>but I am guessing that Neo had a set of roles ready to distribute for any given
>number of remaining people (or any odd number, thus the add-back of DP)

I think that's being too good with neo

I do not believe that it is a completely new game. There were two mafia families before Darkblade (Neo) died. Why kill them off immediately?

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Why does it being a completely new game (which it certainly appears to be) mean that one or both mafia families have to be mod-killed? What seems most likely is this possibility: the mafia are still here in this completely new game, but their roles -- like all the other roles -- have been reshuffled and now belong to different players.

And DP, it was a typical day 1 joke vote.

I think that this game is definately related to the last one. I would still like to see what people were in the past- I am curious if the roles names are the same.

*ponders*

If the role names were the same, then...
-we would have an easy time doing a mass claim (discouraged by neo in part one)
-easily find the mafia by removing the double claims/misfits.
This does not sound like something that Neo would do anymore.

*ponders*

So what I am thinking is that the abilitystayed the same and that the actual name changed. (Kevin becomes HyToFry; Kankihund becomes (insert other dog name here, there were two remaining) some newbe becomes a different newbe, ect become ect)

In my mind, that ties enough of the last game to this one...I probably will never shake the feel that the two games are related. (but I guess day one tatics work...grrr)

As I've said before, my abilities changed in addition to my role name.

Moreover, my abilities changed radically.

Originally posted by me, reply 31:
It was probably only coincidence that SaberKitty's new role has the same powers that her old role had.

I've just done some quick-and-dirty simulations of a situation which I feel closely approximates this. It's not exactly the current situation, but it's close. The situation I came up with: There are two mafia, two cops, two docs, and two masons. Suddenly, the roles are reshuffled totally randomly.

Each simulation, some players, by coincidence, had the same role after the reshuffling as they did before. The number that did not experience a role change was always between 2 and 4 (inclusive). This says to me that there is a very high probability that some people coincidentally retained the same abilities when the roles were reshuffled, even if the reshuffling was totally random.

Okay. If the roles were reshuffled -- which I'm assuming they were -- we'll have 2 Dogpack masons, a Town Lawyer (Gaspode's old role, etc), two cop-like characters (assuming Saberkitty was not lying in the previous game: I was DP, a cop/doc, then) and one other innocent (Darkblade).

This means 6 town minimum.

In my quick review of the thread, Gaspode appears to have said the least. On the 25th he said he was confused, and then stopped talking. I don't know if he's away or anything, but, in a time of little discussion, non-participation isn't a godo thing.Unvote: Quailman, Vote: Gaspode

Aargh. Well, I don't have much choice but to reveal my role:

I am HyToFry. Each night, I "host" a certain player's night choice on hytofry.com. From that, I find out who the player picked that night.

So unvote NOW.

well, i was going on the notion that none of the old roles were being reused- i mean, if the roles are the same, why not just mass old-role claim. (i think mattv said something about this earlier)
if anyone else besides gaspode sees thier new name on the list of old roles, then i'll believe him. but right now...

list of old roles:
sk-hytofry(cop)
courk-werebear(maf)
mattv-some dogpack person(mason)
gaspode-(lawyer)what was the name?
xerox-DP(cop/doc)
DP-word(cop/doc)
*LW- (other dogpack (mason), perhaps??)
*macros-(mafia??)
*quailman- (mafia??)

ok, up until the three starred ones, i'm pretty sure about the roles
if old roles were reassigned, my new role would have to be lw's, mac's, or quail's. i'm seriously doubting this.

still voting for gaspode

Either SK is fooling us all, or she was Hy in the previous games. It goes to reason that Hy in game 1 = Hy in game 2, in powers, so I don't see why we should unvote Gaspode. Eh?

I am under the belief that yes, the roles were simply reshuffled. But that's just my hunch.
