GREAT! So the first thing I do as cop, night 1, is kill the cop who's accurate and doesn't kill the people he's investigating. Why can't I get those picks as mafia? |

| Sorry, I had not noticed that, Werebear. I was too busy trying to lynch my fellow mason. |

I had some serious doubts about the competency of Courk and myself.. we targetted a few people, and they just wouldn't die.
These were our targets:
Night 1 : Quagmire (good choice, since he was doc)
Night 2 : Mackay
Night 3 : Quailman
After that I have gotten no confirmations from the mod on who I targetted, I believe for the next two nights I tried to kill jadesmar, and after that Mackay twice.
I think we only killed two people, so I was thinking we were incompetent maf or something along those lines.

People died. They just weren't the ones you intended to kill. One description I sent to Courk (IIRC) is you enter the house, fire several shots and leave or something like that. |

Night one:
Courk targets Quagmire, who was home due to not sending in a choice, and kills.
Werebear targets PBug who was home due to not sending in a choice, kills him and is told 'Guilty'
Quailman targets Rebel Lord and is told 'Innocent'
xer0x/sami targets sweetwater and is told 'Guilty'
Ancalagon/tanstaafl targets xer0x/sami and is told 'No result' as xer0x/sami is not home
jadesmar targets mackay who is not attacked
gaspode/raist targets werebear but does not find him home and is told
taflinel targets mackay who is not attacked and is told his services were not needed
rebel lord targets courk, as it is rebel lord's off night he is told nothing
Pbug is found with a gun on him
Quagmire is found with a scalpal on him
Day one:
jesternl, courk, quailman, werebear, rebel lord, leonidas, sweetwater and MacadamiamaN vote to have taflinel killed.
He is found to have a scalpal on him.
Night two:
jesternl shoots mackay who is barely saved (one post no vote) by rebel lord
quailman investigates Ancalagon/tanstaafl and is (eventually) told he is bad
xer0x/sami investigates Ancalagon/tanstaafl and (eventually) told he is good
Ancalagon/tanstaafl investigates and shoots courk (told guilty)
jadesmar saves courk from the gunshot (both are informed of the attack, courk does not know who saved her)
werebear targets quailman and is told he lost the trail (as q is at Ancalagon/tanstaafl's house)
gaspode/raist targets xer0x/sami who is not home
Day two:
quailman, xer0x/sami, jadesmar, gaspode/raist, rebel lord, leonidas and MacadamiamaN
vote to have sweetwater killed.
A membership card is found on him.
Night three:
Quailman targets jadesmar and is told not guilty
While quailman is out courk, werebear and gaspode/raist meet there and shoot and stab each other.
jadesmar competantly saves (barely) the evil Courk (both are told of the dual attack, Courk does not know who her saviour is).
ancalagon/tanstaafl investigates raist, but as he is out knifing people, gets no result.
xer0x/sami investigates courk and is told she is innocent.
Gaspode/Raist is found with a scalpal
Werebear is found with a gun
Day three:
Based on Courk's arguments; xer0x/sami, ancalagon/tanstaafl, jadesmar, leonidas and mackay vote to have her killed.
A gun and a stilletto are found on her.
Night four:
jesternl goes to ancalagon/tanstaafl's house but no one is home.
Quailman investigates leonidas and is told he is innocent
ancalagon/tanstaafl goes to quailman's house and shoots xer0x/sami
xer0x/sami goes to quailman's house (told guilty) and is shot by ancalagon but is saved by jadesmar
rebel lord does nothing
Day four:
jesternl, quailman, xer0x/sami, leonidas and mackay vote to have ancalagon/tanstaafl killed.
A gun is found.
Night five:
jesternl kills rebel lord who is home due to not sending a choice
Quailman investigates jesternl and is told he is bad
Sami investigates mackay and is told she is bad.
jadesmar does nothing
rebel lord is found with a scalpal.
Day five:
sami, quailman, mackay and leonidas vote to have MacadamiamaN killed.
A membership card is found on him.
Night six:
Quailman investigates Sami and is told he is good
Jadesmar goes out to protect quailman
Sami investigates jadesmar and is shot dead by jesternl who was targeting jadesmar.
Sami is found with a gun on him.
Day six:
jadesmar, quailman and mackay vote to kill jesternl.
A gun and a stilletto are found on him.
Night seven:
Jadesmar protects someone (doesn't matter)
Quailman reinvestigates jadesmar and is still told good.
Day seven:
Mackay, Quailman and jadesmar vote to kill Mackay's lifelong fellow mason, Leonidas.
A membership card is found on him.
Night eight:
Jadesmar and quailman yet again do stuff that doesn't particularly matter.
Day eight:
Jadesmar and quailman turn on Mackay. They find a membership card on her. Jadesmar and Quailman live out the rest of their lives forever suspicious of the other.
There are some particular situational rules I didn't mention. (when and what to tell someone, when a doctor is killed at the house vs heals, etc) |

My name, custom title and the name of this game were chosen to make you question whether there actually were any mafia left and also to imply that you might be chasing phantasms.
The signature is a quote by Plato and if you look under the definition for Phantasm you will find:
"In Platonic philosophy, objective reality as perceived and distorted by the five senses."
(implying what you think you're seeing isn't really what you're seeing)
And the custom title of "What you see" I.E. Phantasms or your imagination.
Granted, there WERE killers. But I was trying to build the idea so that realization might sink in at the end game.

Yup.
I meant to point that out. I wanted to do so at many points in the game, but I thought it might not be allowed.
Samadhi IMed me to say "Name an animal." I said "Lemur." Long pause. Me: "Er... why?" Samadhi: "Check your email."
Email: "You are the Lemur masons, etc etc..." So yeah. No significance in the mason names. |

I have to give kudos to Quailman. He dealt with my switching of information quite well I thought.
During the game it was obvious though that his confusion led to others doubting him. To somewhat make up for it I sent him this e mail on day 6 (IIRC). He showed perfect discretion.
quote: Sigh. I am going against the general obtuseness of the game with this e mail.
Obviously, I have put you at a disadvantage because of the result change. I debated making a change mid game, but I felt the result for that particular person needed to be what I changed it to, to give the town the proper odds. To somewhat compensate for that I will attempt to lessen your confusion:
You will always get the same result for a particular person, basically good or bad.
"Good" and "innocent" are the same result.
I changed the result because of a specific reason associated with what I saw as a foreseeable and unacceptable consequence of the original result.
Naturally, I'd prefer you not quote me.
I did not intend for their to be any confusion about the results, whether they meant bad or good. I just like to do different things like the 'Evil. Eeeeevil.' I guess, considering I threw a lot of experimental stuff in this one, that general doubt was to be expected. Heck, I encouraged it. |

| Yeah, I posted in the thread a few times that I didn't think the names of the masons had any significance. |

| I originally had the results for the killers (who didn't know they were killers) give a good (or evil if opposite cop). I realized that if you determined the polarity of a cop and got a result for the killer that you might have avoided voting for them completely. I didn't think that was fair given the general difficulity of things. |
