| Non-participators aren't going to be mafia, IMO. IN this game, the best role is mafia. Usually, at least in my experience, the peopel who leave games are people who got bored with it, people with boring roles, people who are townies. Anyoen here who isn't participating is probably a bored townie. The mafia is participating and voting so that they can win. |

Just came to a mathamatical realization...
To assume we can win, there will be 1 or 2 Mafia.
(If 3 tha mafia will win in all sinarios, and 3 seems excessive for 14 player game)
If there are 2 Mafia, and we lynch a Townee, we lose.
If there is but 1 Mafia, no panic yet.
If any see a flaw in my thinking, please correct me.
Happy New Year |

Nothing wrong with your logic here.
That's why I said that we need to lynch a mafioso today because lynching a townie woud do us no good.
....But I'm going to vote: simsim.
Why, you ask? Look at reply 155. He puts the third vote on MadMax as to try and bandwagon him so someone will accidentaly put the fourth and final vote on him, thus making the mafia get a cheap and quick win. That's what I got out of it.
Plus, even though hitting lurkers won't do us much good, he IS lurking. I say we go for simsim.

Simsim is on holidays and only has limited internet access. She'll probably be back here in a week or so.
Apart from that, well, there's not much in he way of reasoning going on, but MadMax has a point as far as Porro goes... I guess... |

FOS Simsim
Because all she does is add votes to fellow players,
says she doesn't know why she is making these votes,
then leaves stating that she will be offline again.
This is either 1..a non-interested player or 2..Mafia.
Either way not helpful to the town.
My vote stays where it is for now though.

Wow. Reading this thread over, this simsim is really scummy.
Day 1: Random vote. No big deal.
Day 2: Random vote. Again: no big deal.
Day 3: About 40 hours before deadline, and guess what our simsim does…Random vote, for Courk!, who has no other votes against her.
Day 4:Originally posted by simsim: VOTE: MadMax
Not entirely sure why.
And then she unvotes Madmax trying to look like an innocent townie.
Scum bells are ringing in my ears. You may have pleased Quagmire, but it's just not good enough for me, please explain yourself.

I'm a townie.
I don't know what defence anyone expects. It seemed I got voted for because I voted Madmax without an explanation. Well I explained it at the bottom of last page, i.e. it was a semi-random, semi-gut-instinct vote. There's not enough posts in this game for me to work out sound logic, so voila, I stuck my neck out on instinct, hoping to at least start a discussion.
I wonder if I'd be one vote away from a lynch now if I'd given the reason, feeble as it is, when I posted.
That being said, I was rather suprised at Courk's reaction. No FOS, no questioning, just a vote with a sarcastic comment. Far more logical than my vote eh?

I believe I've stated before that simsim is on holiday? For some reason a replacement hasn't been found. She has Internet access, but only very rarely. So yeah.
As far as Porro goes... *sigh* unvote: Porro and what the hack are we supposed to do now? Let's just lynch someone. If it's lynch-or-lose (I forget whether it is or not) then at least this fiasco will be over if we choose wrongly. |

Mackay, do you think I should find a replacement for simsim?
And finally, the holiday break has more or less come to a close, but I'll be lenient for now about the deadline. However, if the town is not decisive enough soon, I will institute a deadline.
| Quote: |
| [06] Lynching will be carried out once a regular majority is reached - and cannot be undone by unvoting. If I impose a day deadline, lynching will require at least half of the regular majority. In case of a tie, first come first served. |
For your reference, the votees above are listed in the order that they have been voted on. So as of right now, Porro has reached 2 votes before simsim, and he would be lynched if the deadline had passed. |

Firstly, while re-reading, I found this quote by Quagmire:
| Quote: |
| I merely mention your name as "I think you're scummy" and you jump all over me like a homosexual man in a bar. |
This doesn't have anything to do with the game, but I couldn't help but think what IS would say if he'd seen you post that. (For the uninformed, IS is convinced Quagmire is gay.)
Now on to business.
Firstly, re: the theory of "lurking != scum". I've thought about it and I don't necessarily agree. There's a difference between lurking and sheer inactivity. When I'm in a game where I'm scum, I check more frequently than I normally would, but I post a lot less. Dang, now I'll have to break that habit. It's not because I'm trying to make myself inconspicuous, it's just a combination of my not needing to work out who the scum are, and my wanting to be extra-careful about anything I say. Not that it would really make a difference in this game. Anyway, that's just a thought, I want to check out the last posting dates of our lurkers to see if they're still reading, or if they're not lurking, but absent.
Now, onto lynching business.
I am putting my vote back where it was before. Vote: Porro.
There is precious little to go on in a game such as this, but there are a few things that are striking me.
- The mafia is killing off experienced players. This turns my suspicions onto Porro and Courk in particular, because they're the two most experienced players we have left, and they're still alive.
- Day 1: the only time Porro has had a vote on him before today, I believe. There was only one vote placed on Porro, and this was by Leonidas, who died that night.
- A bit later on, Porro gives me an FOS for claiming townie. It struck me then, and it strikes me again now, that two people (Porro and DMTsurel) didn't realise that the town was just townies and mafia. I guess it's a mistake anyone could make... one could be townie and still think there were cops out there... but IMO, someone WITH a role is more likely to think that there are other roles out there than we mere peasants.
At this stage I would also like to FOS: DMTsurel. As I said, I'm suspicious of the people who tried to throw suspicion on ME for claiming town, and there WAS that whole "last vote on the bandwagon" misdemeanour. It could well have been a mistake, but at the same time, any scum could do it and claim it was a mistake.
NOW SMEGGIN' TALK, THE LOT OF YE! Jeez. |

Okey dokey, my life stands in the balance, so I've had a quick look through the thread to see if I can find anything a bit suspicious. Since other discussion, and voting is focused on simsim, I've particularly looked at her posts, viz:
Originally posted by simsim 13Nov: vote: Someone
completely random
Originally posted by simsim 25Nov: Well, i need not be replaced just yet i got some internet connected at my dads today.
As for a vote, i really have no idea so im going to go random and ask my 3 year old sister to pick, sorry to whoever it is.
Vote:Darkblade
again, sorry, it was peytons choice
and if im missing for too long and cant get connected ill let Mackay know so i can be replaced
Originally posted by simsim 18Dec: I havent been keeping track much, sorry, work and no internet.
VOTE:Courk
Originally posted by simsim 29Dec: VOTE: MadMax
Not entirely sure why. I haven't been keeping up much, sorry, i am on holidays and don't get alot of time to get online. My apologies if i am absent for a while here and there, i will try to keep up.
Originally posted by simsim 4Jan: First of all, I am a SHE! not a HE!
And to make Quagmire happy !
unvote: MadMax
Now that could be percieved as repeated apologies/excuses for lurking/inactivity, despite undertaking to ask for a replacement if necessary, she never did. So in a desperate attempt at self preservation, I'll Vote:simsim though if she's replaced I'll obviously reconsider. |

OK, I know the logic is... shaky... but nobody has anything decent! Guh. And I'm not going to vote for Simmone for lurking because I know how busy she's been. Give me another reason to vote her and I will! Hell, I love having the house to myself. I'm willing to lynch my roomie before she gets home! But I can't do it on the basis of what's been posted. Especially considering this is her first mafia game. So yeah. |

She's off for 23 days and doesn't feel the need for a replacement? That was in between holidays (At least in America. Do Aussies have Thanksgiving or any other November holiday?), and the post before the abscense said she would tell Mackay if she needed a replacement. Me thinks someone doesn't want to give up her first mafia role.
