On the GL we had support for HTML table tags. Should this be re-done on these forums as well?
(Please note that table tags are a lot of work to implement, and pose a potential security hazard) |

Only implement table tags as non-HTML for simple tables.
If HTML tables are what you need for a game, open an account on glpics and link to the page through that? _________________ Shun the unbeliever... SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN-NUH |

| At the risk of sounding like a greedy-want-it-all, why not? (as opposed to "why bother?") It's certainly not a pressing issue, but it's also a nice utility that I have had the opportunity to use. |

Because all it takes is someone posting "</td>" and the layout is screwed. So we'll have to add code to make sure it's a complete table and not something malicious, which would slow down the GL on every posting, and might be incomplete, so one day you may wake up and find out the GL is broken, etc.

Would it be possible to have a translation?
Instead of </td> use , in much the same way that all the other similar [] commands have their <> analogs.
Not that I know PHP but it seems there is already a translation process and it already checks for matching (open/close) tags. _________________ And he lived happily ever after. Except for the dieing at the end and the heartbreak in between. |

| The original reason for using "<>" ytags is so you could easily copy and paste a table from another webpage's code. |

Samadhi, see the poll option for "yes, but implement as UBB tags"?

| Table tags would be handy but I understand the problem if security. Perhaps a compromise could be reached? If
is more secure than <table> then use that. It's easy enough to copy something into notepad and use the 'Replace...' function to convert. |

| I think the original coding let any htmnl code work as long as it was in a table, something that wouldn't quite work with UBB codes. Then again, maybe that's not such a good idea. |
