As the sun shines into the studio, everyone slowly opens their eyes, waiting to see who is dead or missing. But, surprisingly, everyone is accounted for - and healthy. Well, as healthy as one can be when one's life is threatened.

Might as well start your task of trying to save the town.

12 alive, 7 to lynch!

Sounds as if the cultists are being recruited, like a version of the cultist on mafiascum.net. Though, I can't be too certain.

Jedo was the first yesterday to post something about the cult. He was a cultist. Now Mudbuck is the first to post about the cult... Maybe it is part of the recruiting mechanism that they need to confirm this way?

Pending further info, FOS Mudbuck.

I don't think so, it would be far too easy to get the cult killed if this was the case.

I don't recall Internet Stranger mentioning the cult. Do you have an additional theory to account for this?

I'm working on a hunch myself, but don't have anything concrete enough to post quite yet.

Could Courky mod-prod Leo and ref? Both have their last post on the 28th of July. Anybody else need it?

Try posting something that isn't concrete. Maybe others can firm it up, or knock it down.

Nope. Nothing to do with interpreting them. I don't actually get results like that, so basically I am assuming an innocent if something else doesn't happen, which is the best way to put it without saying too much. I'll hold off on posting who I investigated for the moment.

Right. I haven't put sixty years of time into this game like you guys, so just expect me to flow with the game rather than try to make it run at a breakneck pace, to some extent atleast.

Why the cult? Isn't it more logical to go after the mafia first? Half Frown

I think you should start investigating on the posts that are like Chuck's first, Neo.

Warranted, perhaps? But I can't see any other reason that the mafia would not have made a kill.

Mudbuck, the mafia can do more damage to a town than a cult, but we don't want either of them to win... I'm going to FOS you on the very shaky basis that you WERE the first to bring up the cult, but also, your last post regarding cult-related issues seemed as though you were defending them, though only slightly. It's just till there's something a bit more substantial to go on.

Vote: mudbuck.
As has been said by someone else before. If you know about an evil, it should be lynched. It doesn't matter if it's cult or mafia. You eliminate the scum you know about. Mafia shouldn't neccesarily be first.

In Courk's last game, the cult wasn't exactly evil; I believe its goal was the survival of at least one of its members, and didn't have killing powers. By comparison, the mafia's goal is the death of all non-mafia. So I think that we should put a higher priority on lynching mafia than lynching cult.

Mackay, people who congratulate the doctor are disproportionately scum. The reason I didn't vote for you was that I have a belief (admittedly unsupported by any evidence) that you are the bachelorette.

If the cult is definitely evil biased I would consider them as high a priority as the mafia.

And based on Courk's post (bold emphasis mine)
Courk wrote:

Why would she say it that way unless it's a victory for the town to lynch a cultist?

I believe that the cult's only weapon is their recruit ability and that they can not kill directly. Therefore, lynching cult thugs just gives the mafia time to go through the rest of us. (Lynching the cult leader / recruiter, however, would stop the cult from strengthening.)

Since mudbuck is acquiring votes on suspicion of being a newly recruited cultist, that is, not the leader, and not a mafia, I believe that lynching him serves no effect.

Hmm that could be true, but if there's no serial killer, then this might be a killing cult (just take it into account for later). Remember, there's two kills per night. I wonder what happened last night...

Yipes.

There's a lot of bad guys in this game Surprised Laughing

Why use 'cult' as a role if it's not evil though, it's at best ambiguous, and usually it is evil.

I think it's also interesting to note that none of the cultists we lynched even attempted to persuade us that the cult was on the town's side, e.g. a mason group. So I reckon they're scum.

Looking back at the night kills, I would assume the cult is evil and has the ability to kill or recruit, although who knows if there's limitations on which of the two they can choose each night. It looks like since there was no death last night that the mafia kill was most likely thwarted and that the cult recruited would be my guess.

Look at Superhero Mafia. There's no doubt that the SK is evil, but the town seems to agree that if DP is the SK, then they shouldn't lynch him. As things stand, I don't think we have enough time to lynch the cult, and then lynch the mafia. Right now the town's fate depends on scum killing scum, and that's most likely to happen if we lynch mafia.

There are a lot of unstated assumptions in that post, e.g how many mafia, and cult members exist.
