I am using a program called Ultra Fractal....

There is a plugin for it or something like that, that can make movies but I dont know how to use it.

Tell me how I can help and I'll do my best.

I can use the inbuild gradient slider that rotates the gradient 180, but that just changes the color, doesnt change the seed value like yours does.

Hmmm ... I was using Ultra Fractal (a demo version - hence the "demo version" stamps on the animation linked on previous page) ... didn't know it did those "stalk orbit trap" thingies.

That is probably because the words used are different in any program other than Fractal Domains. I dont know.

I am having graininess problems with these. Grrr....

Extro, I hope you like this one. I wasn't trying for 'organic'. I was with my brother trying for 'something cool in under a minute'. I randomized the gradient and it gave me this.

http://www.glpics.com/aaron/tree_l.jpg

I could probably play with it and fix it up so it looks more real, but at this stage I'm still just messing around with the program. I know how to do stuff, but I never have an 'aim' when I start making these pictures.

Looks fine to me. I actually kind of like that one.

One equation I remember good results from was this: instead of the ordinary Mandelbrot recurrence

z n = z n-1 2 + c,

it uses

z n = z n-1 z n-2 + c.

(Some people call it "Fibonacci Mandelbrot" because of its tenuous similarity to the Fibonacci recurrence relation F n = F n-1 + F n-2 .)

The set looks similar to, but less regular than, the ordinary Mandelbrot set. The corresponding Julia sets are really interesting, too; they aren't as symmetric as the Julia sets for the ordinary Mandelbrot set, if I recall correctly. I don't expect you to use this or anything, MatthewV (or maybe you already have); I just remember getting some cool pictures from this.

The first of my posts refer to the previous fractal, you may have known that.
this one should be invisible
And I think I will try that new equation some day...not sure how to put it in Fractal Domains though :(

Ahhh, a heart for today. The faint green line that seperates the two halves of this image would not be visible as long as the real part of the equation approaches .75. But I used exactly .75, the first number that completes the thin line.
Here is a labled fractal showing where the place is. Cool stuff happens around the point of (-.125, .649i) also.

please hug me I said
