I'm gonna take an obvious guess at M070) and say Arachnophonia
I am not sure of it, in fact I rather doubt it because of the obviousness of it, but that scene looks very familiar and I can't currently place it anywhere but possibly that... _________________ * These senseless ramblings brought to you by Insanity™. Yes, that's the Civil War inspired art that the main character goes to purchase in Junebug. Nice one. |

Sorry for taking three months to answer...
asquad is correct, M066 is X-Men 3.
M070 is not Arachnophobia. Sipders are not the central plot of the movie, but IMDB agrees with me that they are important. |

Thanks for asking.
Well, * cough, cough * to be precise, since Sep 03, 2004 1:18 pm [post #2]
Now that I know where the list of identified movies is and where the
89th page of this topic is, my posts will likely be more relevant.
Thanks again. |

Not being a movie buff, I've not contributed to this thread yet...
Only having joined recently, I certainly haven't read the entire thread!
As I understand it, the unsolved pics are all on the first page of this thread, is that correct?
If so, I'm gonna stab at Q2 being The Godfather - perhaps part II. _________________ http://www.ukpuzzles.org/ |

Not only the first page, but the first post. Q2 is on the second post, which means it was one of the first pictures to be posted. |

well forgive my naivety, but...
1) There is no mention of Q2 (other than for the question) on P1 of this thread.
2) On P1, above the (frequently edited) post #1 pics, it says "REMAINING UNGUESSED... ". Is this true, or at the whim of the author whether this is true or not?
Given that you haven't answered the most important part of my post:

PuzzleScot, not sure if you mis-read LordKinbote's post, but he was just confirming the correct answer to your inquiry...all unsolved pictures are on page 1, post 1. Post 2 contained some of the first movies ever posted here, so their answers would most likely be buried somewhere on pages 1..5
I edit Post 1 every so often when I get free time. It always contains all the current unguessed movies...although when life gets hectic I may forget to remove a movie or two from the list...and if anyone makes a post or PM to me to update something in particular I will do it pretty quick. I also welcome anyone to feel free to post updated "unguessed lists" at the end of this thread if they like to.
And while I have no timeline (sorry), I will eventually start adding new ones. In case anyone was curious, my current problem is keeping track of which movies I've posted after so many...and maintaining a list has proven time consuming. |

Ok, yes, I misinterpreted that post. I understand now that only POST 1 has unguessed movies... In all honesty, I was surprised that Q2 had not been guessed by a buff!
I'll have a look through and see what I can guess for some of the unsolved ones. (So long as nobody jumps down my throat because my guesses repeat some on pages, say, 8,24 and 49!)
Irritatingly, lots of them look familiar. Can I ask where the images were sourced? Did you capture them yourself from vid/dvd, are they on IMDB, or google images? ..or elsewhere on the internet - fanzine/nntp?
A few guesses to start with:
L978 - Aliens
DM07 - Scooby-doo (1982)
L1089 - Ocean's Eleven
M066 - Outbreak
L1106 - Is that Arnie? Total Recall?

L978 had just been guessed...Godzilla remake with Matthew broderick...my fault for not updating Post#1. If anyone else sees something not removed let me know
L1089) Over a decade older than Ocean's Eleven, and a dark comedy
L1106) Not Arnold, but an action star who shared early fame like him and around that same initial time frame, but unlike Arnold it didn't last nearly long before resorting to B Movies only for him. |

sergio, I am confused now...
The list of academy awards ceremonies is here (Wiki)
I found a record (Google cache of an arquinauta.com page) which suggests your DoB as 29th July 1984.
The Oscars (academy awards) have never been given out in July!
I'm guessing either that your 'clue' is wrong or I've found a different sergio_27... |

Two down!
M051) The Motorcycle Diaries, SoloAJ. That's Gael Garcia Bernal in the picture, the one on the left. It's the most famous Mexican actor in Hollywood, and he was in Babel. I guess he is not that well known after all...
M062) Inside Man, SoloAJ. |

Well, it's still on the front page, and I scanned for the last guess for it and it was incorrect... So I think it's still open...
My guess for L964) Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach.
But that would make two from one movie, so that's probably not it. Dang.
And for the TOTAL shot in the dark...

L705, L964 and L1135 are all still incorrect.
3 random order hints...one for each of the above.
One is a daughter coming of age comedy...very late 80's
Another is a horror movie and the scene is from the end.
The other is dry comedy starring one of the "Friends" stars.
And finally...I'm starting on new movies...a whole new format that I think is going to prove a lot of fun. |

I thought the 3 hints in the last post might help someone get at least one of them.
No guesses for which is which. I don't think any of the Friends stars did that many movies. |

L1135 is indeed Christine. That is the horror movie scene near the end. The big block of junk is Christine
Death Mage, hopefully you'll use the hints in the next set, cause trust me with the next round it's going to be a necessary part with the competition aspect. But I am going to have a stats tally so you can see what percentage of hints were used so you'd still be able to solve as many as possible without hints. |
