test

Dice Roll:
Original Roll String: 2d6 Fixed
2 6-Sided Dice Results: 4, 4 (Total = 8)

Perhaps you could make it impossible to delete posts containing dice rolls, to further guard against the type of cheating mentioned in the original first post? And put "Fixed" in all edited posts containing dice rolls? (Currently it only puts "fixed" in if the "= blah" part is kept.)

It's possible that the link you have provided rebuilds pages dynamically and we are probably not looking at the same info.

i hope you can still edit that page, Jeep. It has two small typos:
Quote:
the enemy pawn may captured as if the pawn had moved to that square, provided it does so immediately.
may be captured and the capture is made immediately.

I seem to be having a problem setting up a position using FEN. When I tried posting this:

<chess>1B6/8/8/8/8/5K2/7P/7k</chess>

I ended up with this:

8lrbdnblbbdqblkbdbblnbdrb
7dpblpbdpblpbdpblpbdpblpb
6leedeeleedeeleedeeleedee
5deeleedeeleedeeleedeelee
4leedeeleedeeleedeeleedee
3deeleedeeleedeeleedeelee
2lpwdpwlpwdpwlpwdpwlpwdpw
1drwlnwdbwlqwdkwlbwdnwlrw

1B6/8/8/8/8/5K2/7P/7k is not a valid move. Any moves after that are ignored.

You probably want chessboard:
<chessboard]1B6/8/8/8/8/5K2/7P/7k[/chessboard>
8leedbwleedeeleedeeleedee
7deeleedeeleedeeleedeelee
6leedeeleedeeleedeeleedee
5deeleedeeleedeeleedeelee
4leedeeleedeeleedeeleedee
3deeleedeeleedeelkwdeelee
2leedeeleedeeleedeeleedpw
1deeleedeeleedeeleedeelkb

I will be putting a new version of the game tags in place with more games and features.

If you wanted to use <chess> you can use it like so:

<chess][FEN "1B6/8/8/8/8/5K2/7P/7k"][/chess>
to get
black

8leedbwleedeeleedeeleedee
7deeleedeeleedeeleedeelee
6leedeeleedeeleedeeleedee
5deeleedeeleedeeleedeelee
4leedeeleedeeleedeeleedee
3deeleedeeleedeelkwdeelee
2leedeeleedeeleedeeleedpw
1deeleedeeleedeeleedeelkb
White

White: White
Black: black
Starting Position: 1B6/8/8/8/8/5K2/7P/7k

It's white to move?

HAHA, I'm dumb, nevermind. If it's white to move, win in 7? Black to move he only has one choice... and then win in 7 for white?

Hex?!? Laughing Where can i play?!? Enthusiastic Grin

PS Why do the column headings for ChessVar appear to the right instead of below? Dispirited - you never mentioned on mafiascum that those were obsolete... (speaking of mafiascum, does mith have an archive of old pruned games? - i mean those AFTER the freezing of the old board. The archived Little Italy has: 1 2 3 4 - 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 14.5(inv1) 15 16 - 17.5(inv2) 18 19 19.5(inv3) 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28. The current Little Itlay starts at 44... Besides all those that are missing, i'd really like to know if #37 is still around somewhere.)

Also, why isn't any shogiboard displayed in GLN? Confused

No. We have a few tidbits of some of the games, but none are complete. The games weren't pruned, they were lost in The Crash.

What is obsolete?
The two boards. They are generated by old code. The new code (the one currently implemented) does nothing of the sort.

I still don't understand. What boards are generated by what old code? What code is currently implemented? Are you referring to code from the UBB code? I beefed up the chess tag, but I think that the code should be backward compatable.

?? I think I just answered that. We have the games on mafiascum.net/archive and the ones on mafiascum.net/forum (the active board). All the games that aren't on those were lost in The Crash (http://www.mafiascum.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?TheCrash). Of the "lost" games, I have a few pages of random games from people's saved caches, but not enough to recreate a full game.

These boards - they are linked to from reply #41. I think the code is in Perl, but it sure isn't UBB (those are tags), unless you're refering to the Implementation of UBB. No compatibility issue, it's just a misunderstanding.

By the way, i've just went to the official page of the Tags, and the link to reporting bugs is wrong: it goes to /discussiondev/ instead of /discussion/.

jeep wrote:

OK, sorry. It's just that you said "No. We have a few tidbits of some of the games, but none are complete. The games weren't pruned, they were lost in The Crash." quoting me refering to all of the old pruned games... I assumed you must be talking about the GL games, since many of the mafiascum ones seemed to be complete.

AHA. I had forgotten I hooked those into the development forums. Those two come and go as I need. Since I deployed, I no longer needed them. I didn't realize I left those around. I shouldn't have hooked into pre-release stuff. I've fixed those two cases. There are too many meanings for the word "boards" when talking about game boards on discussion boards. Wink

Umm... no it's not. Wink Isn't that "real board" in the Tags topic in GLN forum? ( http://www.greylabyrinth.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?p=273339#273339 )

[edit]Hm? Was i looking at a cached page? Because when i posted this, the gameboards were still wrong, and the only reason why i posted was to link to a page where the gameboard would look alright. Confused

True, it's probably better to reference it locally, since I have them implemented here. I did fix the "no trailing /" problem for FFEN and will get that deployed to the GL when I get home.

It does mean a little typing when you need to capture a group though. Wink

Just remember you can rename a move with braces, so if you place a stone on J8, capturing two stones you won't have to see:
Code:
J8+-j7+-j6*2

in the move list, it can be aliased like so:
Code:
J8+-j7+-j6*2{j8*}
