Just change "Agamemnon" to the name you want; must be from the old GL.

I don't celebrate my birthDAY. My birthDATE was no doubt celebrated by all concerned (Milkman, Postman, Coalman etc) but since I've been independant and a studious person in Wiccan/Pagan/Druidism, I've never conformed to general celebration or recognition of One's birthday.
Of course, I let my kids celebrate it on my behalf, and I do join in for their benefit, but other than that, to me, it don't exsist. I have a birthDATE, a day of my birth, but choose not to follow the conventional celebrational methods of annual birthDAY rejoycings.

Pah! Minto!

Are you just being nonconformist, or is there some wiccan/druidic reasoning behind why one should not celebrate one's birthday/birthdate?

It's widely believed that early Pagans only celebrated the birth of a child into the world. Since there was no set dates and time, there really was no measurement as to how old someone was.
Early Pagans went by seasons and days as in "Hey, it's light, lets work." and "Hey, it's sunny and warm, lets reap the harvest ready for the colder times ahead".
This I know is a very raw basic way of getting the point across, but that's the way it was back there, and that's the way I try to go about it myself.
I like not worrying about time if I can help it. I have never worn a watch, the clock in my car has been disconnected and when nothing special is booked with the family or any commitments, I live by the ancient Pagan ways of getting up when light and sleeping when dark.
I'm quite a useless chap when going out with friends..........never arrive at the correct time Revenge most foul! But when I'm on holiday in France in May/June, I have become an authority on guessing what time it is buy the position of the sun. Plus seeing that the bar is still open

You're that old?! Wow. He's too old to remember his own birthday!

I'm just kidding, Aga. I respect your non-conformity and living of the ancient ways. May you live to be older than you are now! Revenge most foul!

jesus_saves - no offense, but i'm a bit reluctant to post an icarian's birthday... so i'll leave your post there for a while, and update when you've moved on to daedalian or gotten a custom title...

dpw - i'm not sure what you mean... i've got one for dread pirate westly and one for dread pirate westley, which are surely two different people ;p (yeah, no idea what happened there...) but let me know which one the impostor is, and i'll fix it =]

It'd be cool to have them arranged by year, too Revenge most foul! I'd do it myself, but i only just thought about it, and it's currently far too late for me to be using my brain in mathematically inclined sorts of sorting.

MCMLXXVIII III X or 118T-03-0T here, fellas.

For the Latin and duodecimal impaired, that means the tenth day of the third month of the nineteen hundred and seventy eighth year of our Lord, anno Domini. Which, incidentally, was a Friday. Enthusiastic Grin "Friday's child is loving and giving"

PS I was born at 4:25 pm EST - like anyone really needed to know that. Enthusiastic Grin
