Basically, Mith and I railroaded JEEP into agreeing to host a meetup/convention for GL'ers in June 2005 while in chat.

We dont have definites just yet, but Mith and IS (and maybe even the stalker!) have already expressed interest and provided proof of an actual possibility of being there.

By the way, JEEP lives in Hillboro, Oregon (near Portland, so it sounds civilized and not some Unabomber cabin in the woods)

Mith is working on making this a joint venture with random people from mafiascum as well.

So... whos interested and can possibly go?

Good lord--I hadn't bothered checking out this thread because I figured it was something that was either over and done with or too close in the future for me to manage. (Don't look at me like that, I've been gl-absent for the last eight months!)

Needless to say, since this GL meeting is not only in my homestate but also grants a five-month planning period, it would indeed take a natural disaster or world-ending apocalypse to keep me away.

Of course, my arrival at the meeting might well fall under one of those two categories, but no matter. Heck, I could walk to jeep's house in the time granted...but if it comes to that, let's make it worth my while, shall we? I'd like to see just as many GL'ers show up as jeep's sanity can handle. Actually, if more than his sanity can handle show up, that would probably be pretty interesting to watch too.

Word of warning--I plan on bringing a pen and notepad along, so watch what you say, as I do intend to post a write-up of the meeting afterwards.

I'm in New England, but the question is, are you planning on driving all the way out to Oregon? Or is the NE GL contingent chartering a plane (i.e. buying tickets on the same commercial flight)?

I am looking at taking the ferry from Kodiak to Homer/Seward, bicycling to Hanes (in the AK panhandle), taking the ferry to Bellingham, WA and then bicycling to Portland.

Strangely enough, I may be in Portland the first week of July. I might drop in a few days early, assuming a sleeping space is provided. I can share with the dog or something, but not IS.

And people like me are the reason why it's good this thing is stuck at the top. I come in like once a month and poke around whatever is near the top of the page. So there.
