I'm going to hazard a guess and, since this is a very good puzzle and I don't want to spoil, I'm going to both invizz and ROT-13 it.

We'll eventually be told whether that's right or wrong, but, well, vagueness abounds in the phrasing of the question. Another teensy little bit of confirmation would be comfort enough. _________________ "Who slipped th'surly bonds an' kinged you the linguary?" |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Naboo has it.
I wonder if I'm so used to math reasearch puzzles that I forget if I've ever considered simple physics or chemistry or any other science. Eventually, I calculate myself crazy: then I never get the Eureka feeling of solving something myself. Sometimes, I need to just listen to my senses. _________________ smile |

Could someone tell me whether the discrepancy in the word "truth" between the graphic (which shows "thuth") and the puzzle text (which shows "truth") is relevant to the solution or merely an oversight?
Thanks. Sean |

Ooh, no bodies dozing now!
White rays of summer burn all skin,
And kumquats, roses, mushrooms sink,
"Oh!" says Cee in his sin.
Cee ate a carrot, stole a broach,
(Oh! why so naughty, evil child?)
New Wave, a curse upon our days,
(Oh! DAs runnings wild!)
You all I own, say, "Dose a dram,"
And "Trace a cat," or say it not;
If keen, you say, "Dee Ace, Ease Ace,"
(I cheat an awful lot.)[/sub][/spoiler] |

Seeing the suggested answer from Naboo, I still couldn't work out how he reached that conclusion...
...well, I have now discovered the secret (I hope) and concur with his answer.
I doubt I would have been able to get the answer myself. Nice one. |

| I had to read the inscription out loud several times before I got it. |

Sorry, a personal joke about heaven not having spillcheckers. The text is correct. |

| Hrm. Not personally thrilled with the puzzle, which could just be sour grapes insofar as I couldn't solve it without shanterusan's hint. But it seems to me that it's a variant on something we've seen often--hidden words--and one that relies on some particular or strange pronunciation, insofar as, reading it aloud, I would pronounce the last two words of line one as, roughly, "trooth rihseev'd", and "soothes even" as "soothz eevehn". (Note: invisible text contains explicit spoilers.) Perhaps this is quibbling; for me, I find it slightly more than that. |

Please pardon my ignorance, but what is ROT-13? I may have misunderstood, but from the entries that followed, it seems that it's a kind of phonetic writing that is understood when read aloud? If so ... I still couldn't figure out what was said when I read it aloud. Maybe I'm slow. _________________ Knowledge and wisdom are enigmatic persuits. | ROT-13 is a simple encryption method: shift each letter thirteen forward in the alphabet, wrapping around (so A=N, B=O, ..., M=Z, N=A...). It's quite popular as a way to disguise text, because encryption and decryption are the same process. |

ROT-13 is an encryption of the simplest kind. To decypher, transform each letter into the one 13 places further in the alphabet. So an 'A' indicates an 'N' (and an 'N' indicates an 'A'), and an 'R' indicates an 'E' for example.
edit: Tahnan beat me to it, but at least it's clear now |

Ah! I get it now! "The answer lies within", and "all are accounted for" are great clues! Very good puzzle! Though, I have to admit that I probaby wouldn't have gotten it nearly as quickly without Naboo's post. _________________ Knowledge and wisdom are enigmatic persuits. | There is another way to solve the rhyme. Several words in the limerick can be construed as numbers |
