Hello there Revenge most foul!
Yes, this may seem funny, and take the micky out of me if you so choose, but I'm struggling to help my son with a certain part of his homework Dispirited

He's 11, just started a new school and has been given a 'general project work book' to be completed by 12th October. He has completed 75% of it and just has 2 more sections to go. One section is about building a scale model of a computer motherboard, which he has planed and ready to go, but it's the last section we are having trouble with. It's part of the R.E. 'Life of Jesus' homework where he has to do some writing about Jesus and his life............THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM LIES.

The question he has to write about, and only write about an A4 sheet size (one side) is this;
"Tell the story of Jesus' life from his birth to his death. In your answer, mention and explain the parables that he used to teach."
Now I searched for the Parables and page upon page of them came popping out! How can he do a small page on something vast like this?

Any help is much thanked lots.

I'm geussing that if it's to fit on one page, then "the parables" is meant collectively, and by mentioning and explaining them, they mean to mention that this was a common device used by Jesus, and explain what a parable is (perhaps using an actual one as an example). Even fitting that on one page, along with a synopsis of his life, would be a challenge.

I think Extro is probably right - it seems especially tedious to have to summarize each parable.

But if the teacher actually wants something on each, this may help. A list of the parables with quick summaries of each.

Good luck Felicitous

What's a parable?, might also prove useful.

Jesus is a myth and he was real might provide some interesting information about the life of Jesus along with Rich or Poor, Historical Jesus and Man or Myth.

On second thoughts, maybe he should declare in large bold red letters that "God is dead".

I'd pick a well-known parable or two and briefly summarize them. Also, write small. No, smaller.

Probably the two best known parables are the Prodigal Son and the Good Samaritan. They seem to be referenced a lot.
