| I haven't read either. I've read Angels and Demons, and was unimpressed. I've read like a page of 451, for some critique thing we did in English class, but I skipped the year they actually had to read it. |

If it was between 1984 and Farenheit 451, I might have thought a little longer because those are both about the same sort of subject. However, with this match-up...easy. _________________ Paragon Tally: 19 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

Why is it easy for me to say, but not for Jedo and you? Do you guys have a spelling handicap or something?
| Quote: |
| Fahrenheit is a NAME. |
Okay. I KNEW that. So? How does that tie in? And what's the deal with the capitals?
| Quote: |
| um... a EUROPEAN name... |
Okay. So? It still has an EnglishENGLISH equivalent, right? And how does that tie in for me having higher standards of spelling or something? I'm not European, just in case you thought so.

| ...in a language OTHER than English... |
Um, my LAST name is in Russian. It has a direct translation in English. What about some guy with a last name of Rodrigues? I just used the guy's name's English equivalent, did I not? Or are you promoting ignorance here?
So lastly, WTF was your point? Are you trying to provide some reasoning for not knowing how to spell? Are you trying to embarrass me for knowing how to spell Fahrenheit. And what's up with the different name origin? Hell, you know how to spell burrito, don't you? That's not in ENGLISH. And usually, if you like a book, you should a tleast be able to know how to spell it, especially if its name is staring at you in the face. |

Indeed
ok, ready for the token "It'sgoingtolosesomethingbecauseI'mexplainingit" explanation?
Da Vinci is a name.
An Italian name.
Italy is in Europe.
And the capitals were just for emphasis on how I was pronouncing it. |

You still didn't explain. Or if that was your explanation, you've just switched up the books. |

Short answer: Groza was making a joke and Dmi failed to find it funny.
In my experience, no amount of explanation makes jokes comprehensible to people who don't "get" them without explanation.
Long answer:
In defending Jedo's God-given right to misspell "difficult" words, Groza correctly pointed out several of the factors that made it "difficult" to spell Fahrenheit, the word which Jedo misspelled. Each of these factors can also be said to describe the name Da Vinci, which appears in the title of the other book: nominative, foreign, European, etc.
Dmi, please, for all our sakes, if you suspect something might be a joke, just ask. Lashing out at people only results in lengthy arguments and eventually in long-winded anonymous rants like this one. |

My apologies, Dmi. Though, if your comment about my spelling wasn't at least somewhat joke oriented, then I'd say it was a bit harsh. People make mistakes now and then, cut them some slack. _________________ Paragon Tally: 19 mafia, 3 SKs (1 twice), 1 cultist, numerous chat scum...and counting. |

Hey! extro and I do have something in common!
Jedo: No need to apologize. I just kinda felt irked at the time that someone should misspell a book they like. |

If it makes you feel any worse, Dmi, I don't believe either cp or dethy (the two that nominated it) spelled it correctly either. |

| *shrug* I also called it "12 little indians" and even misremembered the first name of the Hitchhiker Series. As long as people know what you're talking about, what difference does it make? |
