I would be happy with either, but I went ahead and voted Fahrenheit 451 because I don't think it'll win anyway.

I haven't read Fahrenheit, but I wasn't overly impressed with Restaurant. No vote from me, I guess.

Have you read "Adventures in the Screen Trade" by William Goldman?
It was written in about 1980, and he spent a lot of time interviewing prominent movie folk. And, with each interview, he asked them (in confidence, obviously), which movie they were voting for as "Best Picture" for the Oscars that year. And he writes that an amazingly large number said
"Chariots of Fire, but it hasn't got a chance."
So Goldman was one of the few people not surprised by the result... Revenge most foul!

Never heard of that book, but that sounds very interesting what you just wrote.

And what do you know? F451 is on top.

It's a movie. You've never seen it? That was one of my favorites when I was little.

This was a hard vote for me, I don't recall who I ended up going with, but whoever wins has my vote till they lose.

They are very different, but both do what they set out to do very well.

Wow, it looks like you people really were reading it for the articles! Who knew?

(wrt. Fahrenheit 451, originally published in Playboy magazine issues 2-4.)
