Only Stalinists would vote for a prequel over the real thing.

Or people who realize that the prequal is an actual good book, whereas the trilogy is only 1 good book.

You're right, the trilogy *is* only 1 good book. Cannibal

The Hobbit was exciting. The FoTR was interesting. The TT was tedious. I never finished TRotK.

Ditto. Except instead of "I never finished RotK" put "I regret having finished RotK"

Started the Hobbit, didn't like it, put it down. Started FotR, got further in it than the Hobbit, still didn't really like it, put it down. Started TT, thought it was OK, read most of it, ran out of time to actually read it, put it down more than halfway done. Read the appendices in RotK.

If I felt qualified to make an actual decision, I'd vote for LotR, but as it is, I won't vote.

I read the hobbit, thought it was an okay book. Started reading FotR, couldn't get more than a few chapters in. Tried starting it again a year or so later. Still couldn't get very far. Tried a third time, again, couldn't get anywhere. Gave up.

I voted for the Hobbit.

arandomguy, do you really wonder why you have no friends? (My only comment on the matter. Sorry it had to go here, but it finally started to annoy me.)

I voted LotR, but I'm not sure why. I think I just did a random pick because I really enjoyed them both, but only once. That's all I can handle. (The same with the Simarillion.)
