Ok looking up the IPs for gritty is weird. The first one was a US IP (from what I can tell), the second is from Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Interesting.

They only have one post each, which I've editted. I prefer to keep bans to the more egregious examples.

Also, I'd like to ask any mods who address spam to please leave the post, just edit the content. It makes it much easier to track repeat offenders.

Instead of banning the IP, I recommend disabling the username (not deleting it). Then, if it comes back under another name, ban the IP.

I noticed some slow page loads last night and found a bot working the site (legitimate crawlers don't post) so I banned it.
Here's how much it was doing. Not sure if that really affects anyone's speed, but it sure seemed to help.

I also banned that david brown thing.

Yeah, I got em. The interesting thing is that I decided to delete two of the spam posts and they posted in exactly the same threads under different IPs. I'm guessing they hijack other computers and use them as spam servers.
