Unregistered Spam attack

We have had a large number of unregistered posters post spam lately. Time to consider disabling the option to post without registering?

I vote for the asterisk-in-the-name option for unregistered posting, and the type-the-word-in-this-slightly-distorted-image option for when you initially register to post.

mith - You should sell you username to the spammers. Exeryone just ignores your posts anyway, so it would be a win-win scenario.

I've been advertising for ages, but the spammers just aren't buying. Maybe I need to offer a free calendar with every spam post.

While it might seem a good idea, I tried to post as Amb2 without logging in and it told me "Guests must sign in with an * at the end" (paraphrase because my memory is concept based, not detail). Ix it just me or does this defeat the point? Unless it is to stop bot posting?
