The "Chess: Antrax vs. MatthewV" theread in VG has something wrong with it.
The first page (link) gives an error message that reads:
Error message wrote:
Warning: raiseerror(PEAR.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/www/users/wx3qs/greylab/discussion/includes/Chess.php on line 2119
The second page, though, appears normal (link). |

What problem? I mean there is no way I could have accidently put the Mafiascum version of the Chess.php file... nope, no way that could have happened, so I refuse to admit there was ever a problem.

it might be related to the quotes, since i tried using them for the names of black and white players and got an error while previewing... I don't know, but maybe this idea will help.

That is a mystery to me! The games should be re-evaluated every time you view it, unless the page is cached somewhere. BUT, it seems like sometimes existing posts DON'T get affected by changes I make. I haven't figured it out, but so far it's always worked in my favor...

Is there a reason the GL and Mafia Scum Chess files are different? I mean, you do both, don't you? Wouldn't it be easier for you if they were the same?

And how! Actually, the only difference is in the error handling for the chess validation part. The rest is all the same. I originally used PEAR modules (which we have on Scum). When I tried to implement here, I found that GL doesn't have PEAR loaded. So I just ripped out the error handling. I don't like it, but haven't gotten back to that part.
All the rest is identical and since I haven't had to touch the section that validates the chess moves, I just made it a seperate include. I screwed up and copied both files from Scum to cause the problem.
