The town were ready to lynch. There were bad cartoons around, and the realm of the Far Side didnt seem so funny anymore. There will be deaths both bad and good and only the best will survive.

CHOICE BLOCKS
This game works differently from normal mafia. There is no concept of night. Choices are going to be sent and enacted during the day in a form of real time. I will be enacting choices at my end at the same time every day, and Courk will enact some for me at whatever time she likes. We will be operating from a shared account and choices will need to PMed to that. I will be creating the account in a moment.

Choice Blocks will last 2 weeks. During a choice block the town will be voting to lynch. During a choice block, all players with choices (which might be everybody) will send their choice when they like. Choices will be enacted in the order recieved. Choices will always be enacted BEFORE vote counts.

If a lynch is completed, the choice block ends immediately. This means any missed choices (presumably because of delay tactics etc) will remain missed. So if you decide to hold back on a choice you may miss it.

The number to lynch is half the town, unless an even number in which case it is half the town plus one. Be Aware, that an untimely death may reduce the lynch requirements. If there is a tied vote when a reduction in number occurs, then there will be no lynch. Also, if a player dies having already voted, their vote will be locked in place for the rest of the Choice block.

There will be NO deadlines in this game. If you fail to lynch within a choice block, there will be no lynch, and all players with choices will get to choose again.

A link to DSI will be posted when I get chance.

TITLE Definition
eg The Far South: [CB1:21A:11L:336H]
Means
CB = Choice Block 1
#A = Number Alive
#L = Number to Lynch
#H = Number of Hours left in choice block since last update by Amb.

Courk may or may not reduce the number of hours, thats up to her. I will be dropping it from wherever it is to the nearest multiple of 24. Yes, if it is on 336 which is a multiple of 24, I will drop it 24, despite 336 being the closest multiple etc Cannibal

I think I only have one pre choice left to go. So when that arrives we can start.

In other news, Dragon Phoenix has given his spot to Azu.

Im still one choice short of starting, and that player has 48 Hours to send it in. I dont see pre choices as being overly critical but it could affect play... So we have to wait.

I have just recieved an email from a player who did not recieve a role email. I re-sent it in text form (minus the cartoon) via PM and will try to work out how to get the cartoon to them shortly.

If ANYONE does not have their role, or has trouble seeing an associated cartoon, please PM this account urgently. Everyone should have their role and details.

Ive got one other whose email didnt get through. Please make sure you check any autospam folders. I suspect the 2 that were lost both were filtered out in this way.

We are still planning on starting the game in about 24 hours.

The bizarre realms of The Far Side had gotten more bizarre. Evil cartoons are rampant, and only you, yes you can help stop them. Unless you are one. In that case, actually, good cartoons are plentiful, and only you can help stop them. Unless you dont care. In which case, lynch whoever you like.

Choice Block One is now ACTIVE

There are 21 alive, it is 11 to lynch. Should someone die the number alive will (obviously) drop to 20, and the lynch number will still be 11. Should 2 people die, the number to lynch will become 10.

Good Luck

Just to note, because of a question, in Choice block mafia, you can send your choice anytime - and groups (eg the mafia) can discuss freely whenever they like. Obviously if you arent related to anyone by role, then you cannot talk outside the thread.

Just because I'm not sure how I feel about it, doesn't mean I won't participate. I understand it is a good way to get information about people - however, because it is a good way to get information about people, it is also a way for people to try and keep from giving out that information. This is why I'm undecided.

AZu: Why? Probably the same reason Fritzler voted Lloyd. We're all being random. I don't think we really need to explicitly call it a random vote if it's obvious it is one. Besides, if Mackay has a role based reason, I doubt she's going to explain and make a target of herself.

AzU: Mgm was mostly right. I had no reason/suspicion for voting, but I do choose a player whose reaction I am interested in seeing. You caught my eye because you were my replacement in WWII mafia, and you kept it because I don't know much about your playstyle or your reactions. There you have it, the whole story.

However: unvote AzU

Wait a second. I don't think that theopholis is asking that people reveal power roles, but rather hinting at his own role. I wouldn't have noticed it if he hadn't quoted himself, but he begins all of the L words in that sentence with two Ells. I've read most of The Far Side, and I remember a comic where two llamas are in the living room, and another is approaching from outside. One of them says something like, "Llook out Llary, it's the llandllord!" The way that I see it, either theopholis made up this to later make a safe-claim, or else he comes from that comic. If he comes from the comic, I'd imagine that he would be the landlord, as I can't think of a possible role other than townie for the married llamas. I've not really thought about possible roles for the landlord, but I can imagine him having a role.

Also, as far as meta-gaming, I can imagine Dogs being a mafia group, simply because I can think of tons of Far Side comics where dogs are either waging war on cats, plotting it, or some such thing. Maybe even two mafia factions in this game, one with cats, and one with dogs, though I can't remember as many cat cartoons as I can dog ones.
