When I display all posts of a single user in a thread via the " Display posts from previous:" option on the bottom of a thread and the posts takes up more than one page, I can't change the page. If I click next (or just on a new number) I get the corresponding page, but with posts from all users?

This is rather annoying in mafia games, when trying to read all posts by a single user.

It's a known problem....not sure if anyone is working on it though. In about a year I should know enough to handle it. I'd just counsel patience.

Hy: I don't buy it. It seems like a completely different problem. Not that I know any of the code, but from what I know I can't see the problems likely overlapping. It seems most likely a thread build problem or a problem with the "page click" algorithm overriding to the actual the filtered page should have been built from.

This is not a problem.
First of all, it has nothing to do with the search function.
Secondly, it's just an oversight by jeep, who added this option - you do get all the information, it's just on one page and the page links it displays shouldn't be there. Jeep is working on fixing it, and the fix will be to eliminate page numbers, unless there's enough results to justify more than one page, in which case we'll have to paginate (?) it.

Why can't we just return all results without pages?

I should really get into the code before trying to help. I'm so far out of the GL code, that I assumed this was "Search for all posts by this user" when I read the original post.

That's exactly what we're doing now. Like I said, an oversight left page numbers (the original page numbers from the thread itself) in place.
And yes, you probably should. I suggest you download the latest phpbb and use something like Beyond Compare to compare it to the GL code, it should give you a good idea of exactly what mods are in place now and what they do. The changelog is also good for a quick reference.

The posts aren't all on one page. If I have more than 40 posts per thread, they're not all displayed at once, and there's a link to page 2 that doesn't go to page two of just my posts.

All posts by a given user are displayed on the resultant page. The pages are ALSO displayed. It SHOULD "paginate" the result set and have the links go to the second (or whatever) page filtered by the specified user.

I have 140 pages of posts. The first 5 and the 140th all open. I didn't try the rest. I can't get to Courk's page 2 either.

It seems Matt's on to something. Of everyone who has more than 8,000 posts, only mine and Sam's don't work, at least for me. But we're the only ones who have more than 8,000 posts found, too.
